Hartford HSA-328 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Hartford HSA-328 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Hartford or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Fifteen tonnes on a three-metre table is a lot of load for the length. The Hartford HSA-328 is a short, heavy double-column machining center with a 3,000 x 2,500 mm (118.1 x 98.4 in) table rated for 15,000 kg (33,069 lb), 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel and 2,800 mm (110.2 in) of Y.

The rating rests on the table's support. Hartford puts three linear guideways under the X axis of its x28, x32 and x36 models and says the third guideway resists twisting during machining and raises rigidity by more than 50%. A table carried at its centre as well as its edges does not sag between the rails when a dense block sits in the middle.

The cross-beam is a slant design and the columns join the base over a width of 1,250mm. Z travel is 780 mm, optionally 1,000 mm or 1,200 mm.

A #50 spindle is standard in three forms: gear head at 6,000 / 8,000 rpm, DDS at 10,000 / 12,000 rpm, built-in at 12,000 rpm. The motor is 15 / 18.5 kW, with 18.5 / 22 kW, 22 / 26 kW and 30 /37 kW as options. Tools: 32, or 40 or 60, on BT-50 shanks.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table load on a 3,000 x 2,500 mm (118.1 x 98.4 in) table
  • Three linear guideways on the X axis, with over 50% more rigidity per Hartford
  • Column-to-base joint width of 1,250mm
  • Gear, DDS and built-in #50 spindles
  • Z options of 1,000 mm and 1,200 mm

Limitations

  • X travel of 3,000 mm (118.1 in) limits part length
  • Y-axis ballscrew support is an option on x28 models, per Hartford
  • Spindle speed peaks at 12,000 rpm
  • Standard Z travel is 780 mm

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the table load of the Hartford HSA-328?

15,000 kg (33,069 lb) as an average load on a 3,000 x 2,500 mm (118.1 x 98.4 in) table. Workholding is part of that figure.

02 Why does the HSA-328 carry more than the HSA-327?

It has the wider table and belongs to the group with three linear guideways on the X axis. Hartford says that design resists torsion and enhances rigidity by more than 50%. The HSA-327 is rated for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb).

03 What are the HSA-328 travels?

X 3,000 mm (118.1 in), Y 2,800 mm (110.2 in), Z 780 mm with 1,000 mm or 1,200 mm optional. The spindle nose is #50.

04 Which motor options exist for the HSA-328?

15 / 18.5 kW as listed, and 18.5 / 22 kW, 22 / 26 kW or 30 /37 kW as options, all as continuous / 30 min ratings on a #50 spindle.
