Overview
The Pinnacle BX300A is a swivel-head 5-axis machining center whose rotary table can be taken off. With the Ø 320 mm (Ø 12.6 in) table removed, the 1,300 x 610 mm (51.2 x 24.0 in) fixed table is free and the machine works as a 4-axis machine with a tilting spindle, a point Pinnacle makes explicitly for the BX A models.
Travels are 1,140 mm (44.9 in) in X, 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and 810 mm (31.9 in) in Z. The B-axis head swivels ± 120° through a worm gear at up to 25 rpm, clamping with 1,157 Nm (853.4 lb-ft). The separate rotary table is also worm driven, turns at 22.2 rpm and carries 350 kg (772 lb); the fixed table underneath takes 850 kg (1,874 lb).
A built-in spindle runs to 15,000 rpm on a 15 / 18 kW (20.1 / 24.1 hp) motor. The taper is DIN40 (HSKA63) and the magazine holds 30 (40, 60) tools of up to Ø75 mm (Ø3.0 in). Rapids are 36 / 36 / 24 m/min.
