Onsrud 3100M — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Onsrud 3100M that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Onsrud or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Onsrud 3100M is the first of four wide M-Series tables that Onsrud names by their metric length. Its table measures 122 in (3,100 mm) in X and 83 in (2,109 mm) in Y, a width chosen for sheet formats broader than the five-foot panels the narrower models take.

That extra Y is what the model is for. The 121M has almost the same table length but stops at 61 in (1,550 mm) of Y. Here the gantry spans a frame 140 in (3,556 mm) wide, and the machine is 208 in (5,284 mm) long and 91 in (2,312 mm) high.

The working parts are the M-Series standard: a 12 hp (8.9 kW) spindle at up to 24,000 rpm, 12 tools, and an 11 in (279 mm) Z-stroke. A wide gantry carrying a 12 hp spindle is a combination for sheet processing at speed. It is not the frame for heavy plate work, and no larger motor is listed.

Vacuum is split into 3 zones as standard. On a table 83 in wide, ask how those zones are laid out, because a zone that runs the full width behaves differently from one that splits the table lengthwise.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 83 in (2,109 mm) of table Y for wide sheet formats
  • Shortest of the wide M-Series tables at 208 in (5,284 mm) machine length
  • 3 vacuum zones as standard
  • 12 hp (8.9 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle with a standard 12-tool capacity

Limitations

  • Machine width of 140 in (3,556 mm), against 112 in (2,845 mm) for the 121M
  • Table X of 122 in (3,100 mm) is the shortest in the wide group
  • The series lists no spindle above 12 hp (8.9 kW)

Best For

Wide-format panels up to 83 in (2,109 mm) across Plastics and composite sheet supplied in metric sizes Shops that need width more than table length

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does 3100 mean in the Onsrud 3100M?

It matches the table length in millimetres: Onsrud lists table X as 122 in (3,100 mm). The 4100M, 5100M and 6100M follow the same pattern with longer tables on the same 83 in (2,109 mm) width.

02 How wide a sheet fits the 3100M?

Table Y is 83 in (2,109 mm) and table X is 122 in (3,100 mm). The frame that carries it is 140 in (3,556 mm) wide, so plan the floor layout around that figure and not the table.

03 Does the wider table change the spindle or tooling?

No. The 3100M uses the M-Series standard: a 12 hp (8.9 kW) spindle, 24,000 rpm, 12 tools and an 11 in (279 mm) Z-stroke. Up to 3 spindles and a 10-position Hide-A-Way changer are listed as upgrades.

04 How many vacuum zones does the 3100M have?

3 as standard. Custom vacuum zones are among the options Onsrud describes for its routers, which is worth raising if most parts are small relative to an 83 in (2,109 mm) wide table.
