Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn SA32B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Nexturn SA32B is the largest of the B line: a Swiss-type automatic lathe for 32 mm (1.3 in) bar with a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) main spindle, 210 mm (8.3 in) of turning length and 20 tools. Both spindles reach 8,000 rpm.
Power is the reason to choose it over the SA20B. The two share the same turning length, spindle speed and control, but the SA20B's main motor is 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp). The sub spindle does not grow with it. At 1.5 / 2.2 kW (2.0 / 3.0 hp) it is the same rating the SA20B has, so on a 32 mm part the heavy turning belongs on the main side and the sub spindle is there for finishing the cut-off end.
Tooling capacities step up with the bar. Turning tools sit on □16 × 120 mm (0.6 × 4.7 in) shanks. The main spindle drills to 12 mm (0.5 in) and taps to M10, while cross and back-end work is listed at 10 mm (0.4 in) and M8, and a cross disc mill may be 40 mm (1.6 in) across. Of the 20 tools, five are OD tools, four are cross live tools, five are Y-axis ID tools, two are live front-end face tools for the sub spindle and four are back-end face tools.
This is a seven-axis machine with a FANUC 0iTF control, and the axis list has one Y axis, Y1. Parts that need a Y axis on the sub spindle side, or more than 210 mm in one chucking, point to Nexturn's P and X machines instead. The SA32B measures 2,270 × 1,480 × 1,630 mm (89.4 × 58.3 × 64.2 in), weighs 3,100 kg (6,834 lb) and carries 240 L of coolant.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) main spindle, against 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp) on the SA20B
- 32 mm (1.3 in) bar through the main spindle and the same 32 mm (1.3 in) in the sub spindle chuck
- □16 × 120 mm (0.6 × 4.7 in) turning tool shanks, the heaviest in the B line
- Two live front-end face tools for the sub spindle and five Y-axis ID positions
- Rotary guide bush holder unit and part conveyor are standard
Limitations
- The sub spindle motor stays at 1.5 / 2.2 kW (2.0 / 3.0 hp), small beside the main spindle
- Turning length is 210 mm (8.3 in), the same as the SA20B, so the larger bar does not bring a longer stroke
- Seven axes with a single Y axis; there is no Y2 in the axis designation
- Back tool unit with live tools is a machine option, the standard unit being four fixed tools

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Bar size, power and weight. The SA32B takes 32 mm (1.3 in) bar on a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) main spindle and weighs 3,100 kg (6,834 lb). The SA20B takes 20 mm (0.8 in) bar on 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp) and weighs 2,700 kg (5,952 lb). Turning length, 8,000 rpm spindle speed and the sub spindle motor are the same on both.
02
The main spindle is listed for drilling to 12 mm (0.5 in) and tapping to M10. Cross drilling and back-end face drilling are each 10 mm (0.4 in) with M8 tapping. Cross spindles turn at up to 6,000 rpm on a 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) motor.
03
Yes, one. The control's axis designation is X1, Z1, Y1, X2, Z2, C1, C2, and a Y-axis tool unit with five ID tool positions is on the standard list. There is no second Y axis for the sub spindle side on this model.
04
Net weight is 3,100 kg (6,834 lb). Length, width and height are 2,270 × 1,480 × 1,630 mm (89.4 × 58.3 × 64.2 in), with a spindle centre height of 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The coolant tank holds 240 L. A bar feeder is an option and adds to the length.
