How much does the MCM CLOCK 1000 EVO cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the MCM CLOCK 1000 EVO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
MCM's CLOCK 1000 EVO is the mid-size horizontal machining center of the CLOCK EVO line, with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of X and Y travel and pallets of 630 x 630 mm (24.8 x 24.8 in) or 630 x 800 mm (24.8 x 31.5 in). It is built as a 4-Axes machine, a 5-Axes machine with a tilting table, or a 5-Axes Multitasking machine that also turns and grinds.
Z travel depends on which of those you buy. The 4-axis machine has 1,100 mm (43.3 in). Both 5-axis versions have 1,000 mm (39.4 in), so the tilting table comes out of the stroke. For long boring bars or deep housings on a tombstone, that difference can decide the configuration before the fifth axis is even discussed.
The tilting table swings through 145 degrees, +25/-120. That is a wider range than the 140 degrees (+35/-105) of the CLOCK 800 EVO, and it leans further to the negative side. The B-axis turns at up to 100 min-1 on the milling versions. For the Multitasking version the table lists 100 / 800 min-1 and a round Ø 800 mm (Ø 31.5 in) pallet, with milling, turning and grinding as its processes.
Rapid feed is 75 m/min (2,952.8 ipm) on X, Y and Z. Tool tapers are HSK, ISO or CAPTO, and magazine capacity is given as "up to 80 (500+)". If the part fits in 1,000 mm of X, this is the size to look at; the CLOCK 1200 EVO carries the same pallets and adds only X travel, at 1,200 mm (47.2 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- The 4-Axes version has 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of Z travel behind 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of X and Y
- Tilting table with 145 degrees of travel (+25/-120) on the 5-Axes and 5-Axes Multitasking versions
- Takes a 630 x 800 mm (24.8 x 31.5 in) pallet as the second option on the milling versions
- Multitasking table speed is listed as 100 / 800 min-1 on a Ø 800 mm (Ø 31.5 in) pallet for turning and grinding
- Rapid feed of 75 m/min (2,952.8 ipm) on all three linear axes
Limitations
- Both 5-axis versions have 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z, less than the 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of the 4-Axes machine
- The tilting table reaches only +25 on the positive side
- The Multitasking column has no second pallet option
- Spindle power and torque, pallet load and machine weight are not in MCM's table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
MCM lists 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of Z for the 4-Axes configuration and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) for the 5-Axes and 5-Axes Multitasking configurations. The page gives no reason, but the 5-axis versions carry a tilting table in the work area where the 4-axis machine has only the B-axis rotary table. X and Y are 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in all three.
02
The fifth axis is a tilting table, listed with a tilting angle of 145 degrees, split +25/-120. It is fitted to the 5-Axes and 5-Axes Multitasking versions. The 4-Axes version has the B-axis rotary table only.
03
On the 4-Axes and 5-Axes versions the maximum rotation speed of the B-axis is 100 min-1. For the 5-Axes Multitasking version the row reads 100 / 800 min-1. MCM doesn't label the two figures; ask which operating mode each belongs to.
04
The CLOCK 800 EVO has 800 mm (31.5 in) on X, Y and Z and pallets of 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) or 500 x 630 mm (19.7 x 24.8 in). This machine has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) on X and Y, up to 1,100 mm (43.3 in) on Z and pallets of 630 x 630 mm (24.8 x 24.8 in) or 630 x 800 mm (24.8 x 31.5 in). Rapid feed is 75 m/min (2,952.8 ipm) on both.
05
MCM lists HSK, ISO and CAPTO as the tool tapers of the spindle unit. Magazine capacity is given as "up to 80 (500+)" for all three configurations. The footnote attached to that row is not printed on the page, so confirm what the bracketed figure stands for.
