Overview
The DN Solutions NHM 5000 is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center that puts an ISO 50 spindle with 1,034 N·m (763 ft-lb) of torque over a 500 × 500 mm (20 × 20 in) pallet. Travels are 800 mm (31 in) in X, 700 mm (28 in) in Y and 850 mm (33 in) in Z, and the pallet carries 800 kg (1,764 lb).
A comparison with the HC 500 II shows what that means. The HC 500 II uses the same pallet size and weighs 12,500 kg (27,558 lb). The NHM 5000 weighs 18,500 kg (40,786 lb), close to half as much again, for a similar work zone. The machine occupies 6,055 × 3,670 mm (238 × 144 in) of floor and is 3,330 mm (131 in) high. Z, at 850 mm (33 in), is the longest travel, which helps with long boring bars and deep tombstones.
