Litz MV-800 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Litz MV-800 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Litz or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Litz MV-800 opens the MV vertical machining center series with 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel, 450 mm (17.7 in) of Y and 540 mm (21.3 in) of Z. It carries a 10,000 rpm BT-40 spindle and a 24-tool arm changer, and at 4,500 kg (9,921 lb) it is the lightest MV model.

In the MV series spindle speed falls as the machines grow. The MV-1000 is listed at 8,000 rpm and the MV-1200B at 6,000 rpm, so the MV-800 is the quick one of the family, suited to smaller cutters and lighter parts. A 12,000 rpm spindle is listed as an option, along with a spindle oil cooler and coolant through the spindle. Note that the oil cooler is an option here; the standard spindle list has only the air seal system.

The table is 850 x 450 mm (33.5 x 17.7 in) with a 350 kg (772 lb) limit, and the T-slots sit 80 mm from the centre where the MV-1000 uses 100 mm. Spindle nose to table distance is 80 to 620 mm (3.1 to 24.4 in), low enough to reach thin work with stub tools.

Rapids are 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) and cutting feed runs to 20,000 mm/min. The axis motors are small at 1.5 / 1.5 / 2.0 kW, in keeping with the light table. Supply is 15 kVA, coolant capacity 200 L, and the standard control is the Mitsubishi M80.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 10,000 rpm standard spindle, the fastest standard speed in the MV series, with 12,000 rpm as an option
  • Spindle nose reaches down to 80 mm (3.1 in) above the table
  • 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) rapids
  • Lightest MV model at 4,500 kg (9,921 lb) on a 15 kVA supply

Limitations

  • 350 kg (772 lb) table load limits fixture and part weight
  • Spindle oil cooler is an option on this model
  • Y travel of 450 mm (17.7 in) is short next to the 500 mm of the MV-1000
  • Tool length is limited to 270 mm (10.6 in)

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the Litz MV-800?

The MV-800 travels 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 450 mm (17.7 in) in Y and 540 mm (21.3 in) in Z. Its table is 850 x 450 mm (33.5 x 17.7 in), rated for 350 kg (772 lb), and the spindle nose sits 80 to 620 mm (3.1 to 24.4 in) above it.

02 What spindle options does the MV-800 offer?

The standard spindle runs at 10,000 rpm with BT-40 tooling and a spindle air seal system. Litz lists a 12,000 rpm spindle, a spindle oil cooler and coolant through the spindle as options.

03 How many tools does the MV-800 hold?

The arm type magazine holds 24 tools. Tool length can be up to 270 mm (10.6 in) and tool weight up to 8 kg (18 lb). Maximum tool diameter is listed as 80 / 125 mm (3.1 / 4.9 in).

04 How does the MV-800 compare with the MV-1000?

The MV-1000 is the next size: 1,000 x 500 x 540 mm travels and a 500 kg (1,102 lb) table load, with an 8,000 rpm standard spindle. The MV-800 is smaller, lighter at 4,500 kg against the 5,800 kg of the MV-1000, and faster at 10,000 rpm.
