Litz LT-400 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Litz LT-400 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Litz or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Litz LT-400 is a two-axis CNC turning lathe one size above the LT-350, with an A2-6 spindle nose, 52 mm (2.0 in) bar capacity, a 320 mm (12.6 in) maximum turning diameter and 530 mm (20.9 in) of turning length.

Length is where it gains most. Between-centres distance is 645 mm (25.4 in) and Z travel 530 mm, enough for motor shafts, spindles and hydraulic rods that the LT-350 cannot hold at 350 mm. The tailstock grows with it, to a 90 mm (3.5 in) quill with an MT5 taper and 435 mm (17.1 in) of body travel.

The spindle trades speed for strength. Its range is 30-4,000 rpm with an 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) motor and a 100 mm (3.9 in) front bearing, against the 6,000 rpm and 7.5 / 11 kW of the LT-350. Larger diameters at lower speed is the right direction for steel shafts and cast flanges. Turret tooling steps up as well, to 25 mm (1.0 in) OD shanks and 40 mm (1.6 in) boring bars in 12 stations, indexed by a 1.2 kW servo motor.

Axis rapids are a little lower, 20 m/min (787 ipm) in X and 24 m/min (945 ipm) in Z. The machine is 2,250 mm (88.6 in) long, weighs 4,300 kg (9,480 lb) and still runs on a 15 kVA supply. Coolant capacity is 200 L. A robot interface and automatic front door are among the options for automated loading.
