How much does the Komo Fusion XL 5-Axis cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Komo Fusion XL 5-Axis that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Komo Fusion XL 5-Axis fills a gap Komo names outright: it sits between the Xtreme 5-Axis and the Fusion 5-Axis, as a lighter duty machine than the latter. What it keeps from the larger model is the long tool capacity and the fast frame. What it changes is the spindle.
That spindle is rated 18.10 hp (13.5 kW), four-pole and liquid cooled, with an HSK 63F taper and up to 24,000 rpm. It is one of two five-axis models for which Komo recommends aluminum, alongside wood, plastics and composites, and the higher top speed suits small tools in sheet and thin-wall parts.
This is also the only Komo router page that prints the range of the rotary axes. The A axis swings ±120 degrees and the C axis ±320 degrees, and both move at 82.5 degrees/sec. A head that tilts past horizontal on either side can reach undercut edges without a second setup. The C range is finite, though, so a trim path that circles a part will need to unwind unless the optional C distributor is fitted.
Tables are the 508, 510 and 512, at 60 in x 96 in (1,524 mm x 2,438 mm), 60 in x 120 in (1,524 mm x 3,048 mm) and 60 in x 144 in (1,524 mm x 3,658 mm). X travel is 116 in (2,965 mm), 144 in (3,658 mm) or 168 in (4,267 mm) and Y is 86 in (2,184 mm). The changer holds 15 tools of up to 11 in (280 mm) in length, or 30 with a second 15 station unit. X and Y traverse at 3,150 ipm (80 m/min) and Z at 735 ipm (18.7 m/min), with 205 in/sec² acceleration.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- A axis range of ±120 degrees and C axis range of ±320 degrees, both at 82.5 degrees/sec
- 18.10 hp (13.5 kW) liquid-cooled HSK 63F spindle running up to 24,000 rpm
- Changer takes tools up to 11 in (280 mm) long
- X and Y traverse of 3,150 ipm (80 m/min) with 205 in/sec² acceleration
- Recommended by Komo for aluminum as well as wood, plastics and composites
Limitations
- Lighter duty than the Fusion 5-Axis, which has a 20 hp (15 kW) spindle
- C axis rotation is limited to ±320 degrees unless the optional C distributor is fitted
- Komo's page gives no dependable Z travel figure for this model, so it is not in the table here
- Rotary encoders and hydraulic brakes for the A and C axes are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Komo describes it as a lighter duty machine than the standard Fusion 5-Axis that bridges the gap between the Xtreme 5-Axis and the Fusion 5-Axis. It is intended for accurate cutting of wood, plastics, composites and aluminum.
02
The A axis is listed at ±120 degrees and the C axis at ±320 degrees. Both rotate at 82.5 degrees/sec. As options Komo offers rotary encoders that increase the repeatability tolerance of the two axes, hydraulic brakes for indexing, and a C distributor that allows the C axis to rotate continuously without unwinding.
03
One Hiteco or HSD spindle is standard, rated 18.10 hp (13.5 kW), four-pole and liquid cooled, with an HSK 63F taper and up to 24,000 rpm. The changer holds 15 tools as standard and 30 with an optional second 15 station tool changer. Tools can be up to 11 in (280 mm) long and 12 lbs each.
04
The Xtreme 5-Axis has a 13.4 hp (10 kW) spindle, a 12-tool changer with a 5 in (127 mm) tool length limit and 130 in/sec² acceleration. The Fusion XL 5-Axis has 18.10 hp (13.5 kW), 15 tools of up to 11 in (280 mm) and 205 in/sec². Komo recommends the Xtreme 5-Axis for wood, plastics and composites, and adds aluminum for this model.
