How much does the Komo Xtreme 5-Axis cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Komo Xtreme 5-Axis that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Komo Xtreme 5-Axis puts a tilting, rotating head on the Xtreme moving table frame and raises Z travel from the 10 in (254 mm) of the Xtreme XL to 24 in (610 mm). It is Komo's lightest five-axis router, recommended for wood, plastics and composites.
A five-axis head on a router is mostly a trimming and profiling tool, and the spindle is sized accordingly: 13.4 hp (10 kW), four-pole and liquid cooled, with an HSK 63F taper and up to 24,000 rpm. The A and C axes move at 74.4°/sec. For parts that need the head to keep turning in one direction, such as a continuous trim around a formed shell, Komo lists a C distributor, a rotary distributor that lets the C axis rotate without unwinding.
Table sizes are the familiar 508, 510 and 512: 60 in x 96 in (1,524 mm x 2,438 mm), 60 in x 120 in (1,524 mm x 3,048 mm) and 60 in x 144 in (1,524 mm x 3,658 mm). X travel is 110 in (2,794 mm), 134 in (3,404 mm) or 158 in (4,013 mm), slightly less than the three-axis machine on the same tables, and Y is 84 in (2,134 mm). On the 510 and 512 Komo notes 36 in (914 mm) of Z as an option.
Linear traverse is 3,150 ipm (80 m/min) in X, 2,300 ipm (58.5 m/min) in Y and 1,200 ipm (30.5 m/min) in Z, with 130 in/sec² acceleration. The changer holds 12 tools, or 24 with a second optional 12 station unit, and tools may be up to 5 in (127 mm) long. That length limit deserves a look, because five-axis trimming often calls for long-reach cutters.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 24 in (610 mm) of Z travel, with 36 in (914 mm) optional on the 510 and 512
- Liquid-cooled 13.4 hp (10 kW) HSK 63F spindle running up to 24,000 rpm
- A and C axes at 74.4°/sec, with an optional C distributor for continuous rotation
- Linear traverse of 3,150 ipm (80 m/min) in X and 130 in/sec² acceleration
- 12 tools as standard and 24 with a second optional 12 station tool changer
Limitations
- At 13.4 hp (10 kW) the spindle is the smaller choice next to the 20 hp (15 kW) of the Fusion 5-Axis
- Maximum tool length in the changer is 5 in (127 mm)
- Komo's table gives no A or C axis rotation range for this model
- The 36 in (914 mm) Z option is noted for the 510 and 512 only, not the 508
- Recommended by Komo for wood, plastics and composites; aluminum is not on the list

Frequently Asked Questions
01
24 in (610 mm) on all three sizes. For the 510 and the 512 Komo's table adds a note that 36 in (914 mm) is optional. By comparison the three-axis Xtreme XL on the same tables has 10 in (254 mm), so most of the extra height is there to give the tilted head room over a formed part.
02
One Hiteco or HSD spindle rated 13.4 hp (10 kW), four-pole and liquid cooled, with an HSK 63F taper and up to 24,000 rpm, fully programmable. The A and C axes are listed at 74.4°/sec. Linear axes traverse at 3,150 ipm (80 m/min) in X, 2,300 ipm (58.5 m/min) in Y and 1,200 ipm (30.5 m/min) in Z.
03
Komo describes it as a rotary distributor that allows the C axis to rotate continuously without unwinding. Without it the head has to turn back after a set amount of rotation, which interrupts a cut that runs all the way around a part.
04
Komo places the Fusion XL 5-Axis between this machine and the Fusion 5-Axis. The Fusion XL 5-Axis has an 18.10 hp (13.5 kW) spindle, a 15-tool changer and an 11 in (280 mm) tool length limit, and Komo adds aluminum to its recommended materials. The Xtreme 5-Axis has a 13.4 hp (10 kW) spindle, 12 tools and a 5 in (127 mm) tool length limit.
