Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Komo Mach III that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Komo Mach III is the top moving table router in Komo's range, built for multi-spindle work: every spindle carries its own tool changer, the table is precision machined aluminum, and Z travel is 15 in (381 mm). Komo sets it above the Fusion XL on three counts, flexibility, options and Z travel.
Start with the table, because it marks the intent. Where the lower series use a composite grid as standard, this model has a precision machined aluminum table (2 in) with options available. An aluminum surface suits fixtures and pods for solid parts, in keeping with aluminum being one of the three recommended applications.
One spindle is standard: 18 hp (13.2 kW), four-pole and fan cooled, HSK 63F, up to 24,000 rpm. More can be added, and the option list covers multiple spindles with programmable head spacing and shroud height, and head locks. Each changer takes 15 tools, and a second 15 station changer on the head brings the capacity to 30. For non-ferrous metal Komo offers mist coolant, a dust/chip enclosure and a pressure foot.
The figures show where the design gives up speed for height. X and Y traverse at 3,150 ipm (80 m/min), the same as the Fusion XL, but Z runs at 600 ipm (15.2 m/min) and acceleration is 83 in/sec². Tables are 60 in x 96 in (1,524 mm x 2,438 mm), 60 in x 120 in (1,524 mm x 3,048 mm) and 60 in x 144 in (1,524 mm x 3,658 mm), and Komo adds that tables are also available 72 in wide (1,829 mm). The dust interface is 9 in (229 mm) in diameter, with 900 cfm recommended per spindle.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 15 in (381 mm) of Z travel, the most of Komo's three-axis moving table routers
- Precision machined aluminum table (2 in) as a listed feature
- A tool changer on each spindle: 15 tools, or 30 with a second 15 station changer on the head
- Multiple spindles with programmable head spacing, shroud height and head locks as options
- Tables also available 72 in wide (1,829 mm) beyond the three 60 in sizes
Limitations
- Acceleration is 83 in/sec², against 205 in/sec² on the Fusion XL
- Z traverse is 600 ipm (15.2 m/min), the slowest of Komo's moving table routers
- The standard spindle is the same 18 hp (13.2 kW) fan-cooled unit as on the lower series
- Mist coolant, the dust/chip enclosure and the pressure foot for metal cutting are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Komo describes the Mach III as a premier machine with more flexibility, more options and more Z travel than a Fusion XL. Z travel is 15 in (381 mm) against the 12 in (305 mm) of the Fusion XL, the table is precision machined aluminum, and each spindle carries its own tool changer. The Fusion XL has the higher acceleration, 205 in/sec².
02
15 tools as standard on the spindle-mounted, aggregate-capable changer. The maximum is 30 tools with an optional second 15 station tool changer on the head. Tools may be 3.25 in (82 mm) in diameter with all positions full, 6.5 in (165 mm) with adjacent positions empty, and up to 5 in (127 mm) long.
03
The 508, 510 and 512 have tables of 60 in x 96 in (1,524 mm x 2,438 mm), 60 in x 120 in (1,524 mm x 3,048 mm) and 60 in x 144 in (1,524 mm x 3,658 mm). Komo notes that tables are also available 72 in wide (1,829 mm). Travels are 116 in (2,946 mm), 142 in (3,607 mm) or 164 in (4,166 mm) in X, with 84 in (2,134 mm) in Y.
04
Komo lists wood, plastics and composites, and aluminum as recommended applications. The metal cutting option adds mist coolant, a dust/chip enclosure and a pressure foot for cutting non-ferrous metals. For ferrous metals Komo has a separate model, the VGM, with a CAT 40 spindle.
