Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Johnford DMC-3100PH that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Johnford DMC-3100PH is the No.50 version of the wide DMC-P frame at its shorter length: 3,100 mm (122 in) in X, 2,300 mm in Y and 800 mm (31.5 in) in Z, with 2,400 mm (94.4 in) between columns. It is a machine for parts that are both wide and hard to cut.
Stamping die shoes are the obvious example. They are thick steel or cast plates, often two metres across, that need deep pockets, large bores for guide posts and long flat faces. The spindle here is BT-50 / CAT-50 on a 90 mm (3.5 in) bearing with a 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) Hi Lo Gear drive. It holds a Ø200 mm (Ø7.8 in) face mill when the neighbouring pockets are empty, and tools up to 15 kg (33 lb).
A caution on weight, though. The 3,200 x 2,050 mm (126 x 80.7 in) table is rated 10,000 kg (22,000 lb). Thick die plates that cover the table approach that figure, and a casting with its fixture can pass it. Weigh the heaviest job against the rating, and against the 13,000 kg (28,600 lb) of the DMC-4100PH.
The maker's table has a slip for this model: beside the 2,300 mm Y travel it prints an inch figure that does not convert, so this page gives the metric value only. Other figures match those of the 40-taper DMC-3100P, including the 35,000 kg (77,000 lb) weight and the 8,775 x 5,580 x 3,960 mm (345.5 x 220 x 156 in) footprint.
