We do not have a price for the Jainnher JHI-3012NC/CNC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Jainnher JHI-3012NC/CNC is the long-bed internal grinder of the JHI range. It grinds the same bores as the JHI-3006NC/CNC, 20 to 300 mm (0.8 to 11.8 in) in diameter and up to 300 mm (11.8 in) deep, but holds a workpiece up to 1,200 mm (47.2 in) long.
Length is what the extra iron buys. Z stroke grows to 800 mm (31.5 in) and net weight to 6,300 kg (13,889 lb). Grinding depth does not grow with it, so this is a machine for a bore at the end of a long part, such as a spindle housing, a cylinder or a hollow shaft, not for a bore that runs the whole length. Long parts overhang the chuck. Jainnher's table does not list a steady rest for this model, so ask how a 1,200 mm (47.2 in) part is supported.
The work head swivels from -3° to +12°, a little less on the plus side than the shorter machine. Its cylindrical type spindle runs at 10 to 1,000 rpm from a 3.5 kW servo. X travels 200 mm (7.9 in) at up to 5 m/min (197 ipm) and both axes have a 0.001 mm setting unit. The wheel spindle motor is 5 HP (3.7 kW), with 7.5 HP (5.6 kW) optional.
Like its sibling, the machine comes as NC or CNC. The CNC version has Fanuc servos of 1.2 kW on X and 1.8 kW on Z, and Jainnher describes a FANUC control with an 8.4 in display and macro programs. The packing case is 4,400 x 2,200 x 1,800 mm (173.2 x 86.6 x 70.9 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Holds workpieces up to 1,200 mm (47.2 in) long, twice the JHI-3006NC/CNC's 600 mm (23.6 in)
- Z stroke of 800 mm (31.5 in) with an 8 m/min (315 ipm) rapid
- Same 20 to 300 mm (0.8 to 11.8 in) bore range and 0.001 mm setting unit as the shorter machine
- Available with Fanuc servo drives and a FANUC control with an 8.4 in display
- Roller type linear guideways with servo drive on the feed axes, as Jainnher describes them
Limitations
- Grinding depth stays at 300 mm (11.8 in) however long the part is
- Plus-side swivel of the work head is +12°, less than the JHI-3006NC/CNC's +15°
- At 6,300 kg (13,889 lb) it is heavier than the JHI-3006NC/CNC at 5,000 kg (11,023 lb)
- No installed footprint is published, only the packing case size

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to 1,200 mm (47.2 in), which Jainnher calls the maximum holding length. The Z axis has 800 mm (31.5 in) of stroke. The swing over the bed is 480 mm (18.9 in) and the swing inside the chuck guard is 350 mm (13.8 in).
02
No. The maximum grinding depth is 300 mm (11.8 in), the same as on the shorter machine. The long bed is for reaching a bore in a long workpiece. A through bore longer than that would have to be ground from both ends, with the part turned around.
03
The X axis has a 200 mm (7.9 in) stroke and a 5 m/min (197 ipm) rapid. The Z axis has an 800 mm (31.5 in) stroke and an 8 m/min (315 ipm) rapid. The minimum setting unit is 0.001 mm on both.
04
In its CNC form, yes. Jainnher's table lists Fanuc servo motors of 3.5 kW, 1.2 kW and 1.8 kW for the CNC version, and the page says the machine is equipped with a FANUC control with an 8.4 in display that runs macro programs. The NC version has servos of 3.5 kW, 1 kW and 2 kW.
