How much does the AWEA LP-4033 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LP-4033 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Width, not length, defines the AWEA LP-4033. It has 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between the columns and 3,300 mm (129.9 in) of Y travel, the widest bridge in the LP series, on the shortest X travel offered at that width: 4,000 mm (157.5 in).
The table does not grow with the bridge. It is 4,020 x 2,400 mm (158.3 x 94.5 in) and rated for 15,000 kg (33,069 lb), exactly as on the LP-4025, whose columns stand 2,700 mm (106.3 in) apart. So the Y travel is longer than the table is wide, and the spindle can move well past both table edges. For a vertical spindle that mostly means clearance for clamps and for parts that hang over the table. It matters more once a horizontal head is fitted: AWEA states that the LP series can be equipped with an automatic head changer and a vertical / horizontal ATC system to become a 5-face machining center, and a side-facing head needs room beside the workpiece to reach its flanks.
The wider bridge adds mass. The LP-4033 weighs 45,000 kg (99,206 lb) against 40,000 kg (88,183 lb) for the LP-4025. Rapids are unchanged at 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) on X, Y and Z, and the VDI figures match as well: positioning accuracy P ≤ 0.030 mm over full travel, repeatability Ps ≤ 0.025 mm.
Spindle equipment is common to the series: BT50, 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP), 6,000 rpm standard with a 2-speed gear box. A Y travel of 4,000 mm is listed as an option.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between columns, against 2,700 mm (106.3 in) on the LP-4025
- 3,300 mm (129.9 in) of Y travel, with 4,000 mm available as an option
- Same 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) rapids on all three axes as the narrower LP-4025
- Can be equipped with an automatic head changer and vertical / horizontal ATC for 5-face machining
- VDI repeatability of Ps ≤ 0.025 mm
Limitations
- The table is 2,400 mm (94.5 in) wide, no wider than on the LP-4025, despite the wider bridge
- Table load stays at 15,000 kg (33,069 lb)
- 45,000 kg (99,206 lb) machine weight for 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X travel
- Standard Z travel of 760 mm (29.9 in) is short for tall parts; 1,000, 1,200 and 1,400 mm are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Y travel and column spacing. The LP-4033 has 3,300 mm (129.9 in) of Y and 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between columns; the LP-4025 has 2,500 mm (98.4 in) and 2,700 mm (106.3 in). The table, 4,020 x 2,400 mm (158.3 x 94.5 in), and its 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) rating are identical. The LP-4033 weighs 45,000 kg (99,206 lb), the LP-4025 40,000 kg (88,183 lb).
02
The table is 2,400 mm (94.5 in) wide and the Y travel is 3,300 mm (129.9 in), so the spindle travels beyond the table on both sides. That leaves room for overhanging parts and, with the head changer and horizontal heads AWEA offers for 5-face machining, for a tool to approach the side faces of a workpiece.
03
Yes. The MVP-4040 has a 4,020 x 3,010 mm (158.3 x 118.5 in) table with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of Y travel and the same 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between columns. The MVP-4040 is a much heavier machine at 78,500 kg (173,060 lb), against 45,000 kg (99,206 lb) for the LP-4033.
04
A 6,000 rpm spindle with a BT50 taper and a 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP) motor; DIN69871-A is an optional taper. AWEA quotes 642 N-m at 387 rpm for the 6,000 rpm gear spindle. Gear spindles of 4,000 and 5,000 rpm, built-in spindles of 6,000 and 8,000 rpm and direct drive spindles of 8,000 and 10,000 rpm are options.
