How much does the Hwacheon HiT-360D cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hwacheon HiT-360D that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hwacheon HiT-360D is the twin-table model of Hwacheon's BBT-30 range: two 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in) tables, each rated 250 kg (551 lb), exchanged by an up / down change mechanism, under 520 mm (20.5 in) of X, 360 mm (14.2 in) of Y and 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z travel. While one table is in the work zone the operator unloads and reloads the other, so loading time moves out of the cycle.
That is the reason to choose it over the single-table HiT-400, whose one 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in) table is rated 200 kg (441 lb). The price paid is floor space: the HiT-360D occupies 2,977 x 1,884 mm (117.2 x 74.2 in), length by width, though it weighs the same 2,500 kg (5,512 lb). Y travel is 360 mm (14.2 in), and the spindle nose ranges 190 to 490 mm (7.5 to 19.3 in) above the table.
For a twin-table machine the tool length limit deserves attention. Tools may be Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) and 2.5 kg (5.5 lb), but no longer than 150 mm (5.9 in), so long drills and extended holders need checking before a job is promised to this machine. The magazine holds 21 tools on fixed addresses and changes in 1.6 sec chip to chip, and all three axes rapid at 60 m/min (2,362 ipm).
Spindle and control come as a pair: 12,000 rpm (12K) with FANUC 0i-MF, 15,000 rpm (15K) with SIEMENS-828D, or 24,000 rpm (24K) with either. FANUC versions are rated 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp) and SIEMENS versions 7.2 / 4.8 kW (9.7 / 6.4 hp). The direct-coupled spindle is grease-lubricated, with an oil cooler on the 24K version and a fan cooler on the others, and through-spindle coolant is optional. The coolant tank holds 400 L (106 US gal). Power demand is 25 kVA at 220V, 60Hz for FANUC or 380V, 60Hz for SIEMENS.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in) tables with an up / down table change, so parts are loaded while the machine cuts
- Each table is rated 250 kg (551 lb), more than the 200 kg (441 lb) of the single-table HiT-400
- 60 m/min (2,362 ipm) rapids on all axes and a 1.6 sec chip-to-chip tool change
- Spindle options to 12,000, 15,000 or 24,000 rpm, with optional through-spindle coolant
- 400 L (106 US gal) coolant tank
Limitations
- Tool length is limited to 150 mm (5.9 in), with Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) and 2.5 kg (5.5 lb) limits on a BBT-30 taper
- Y travel is 360 mm (14.2 in) and Z travel 300 mm (11.8 in)
- Floor area of 2,977 x 1,884 mm (117.2 x 74.2 in) for a machine with 520 mm (20.5 in) of X travel
- Spindle power of 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp) on FANUC or 7.2 / 4.8 kW (9.7 / 6.4 hp) on SIEMENS keeps cuts light

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The machine has two 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in) tables and the table change is listed as an up / down type. One table sits in the work zone while the other is outside it for loading, so parts are changed during the cycle. Each table is rated 250 kg (551 lb).
02
The HiT-400 has one 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in) table rated 200 kg (441 lb) and the same 2,500 kg (5,512 lb) machine weight. The HiT-360D has two tables of 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in) rated 250 kg (551 lb) each, plus 360 mm (14.2 in) of Y travel. Both share the BBT-30 spindle options and a 21-tool magazine.
03
21 tools in a BBT-30 taper with a 45° pull stud, selected by fixed address. The maximum tool is Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in), 150 mm (5.9 in) long and 2.5 kg (5.5 lb). Tool change takes 1.6 sec chip to chip.
04
The 12K version runs to 12,000 rpm with FANUC, the 15K to 15,000 rpm with SIEMENS, and the 24K to 24,000 rpm with either control. Power is 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp) for FANUC versions and 7.2 / 4.8 kW (9.7 / 6.4 hp) for SIEMENS versions, so the faster spindles add speed for small tools rather than power.
05
25 kVA of electrical supply at 220V, 60Hz with FANUC or 380V, 60Hz with SIEMENS, and air at 5 kg/cm². The machine height is 2,384 mm (93.9 in), 2,500 mm (98.4 in) with the top cover and 2,660 mm (104.7 in) with through-spindle coolant.
