How much does the Hedelius FORTE 7-3600 NEO cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hedelius FORTE 7-3600 NEO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
At 3,600 mm (141.7 in) the Hedelius FORTE 7-3600 NEO has the longest X travel of the FORTE 7 NEO series. It is a 3-axis travelling column machining centre with a fixed 4,080 x 700 mm table that carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), 700 mm of Y travel and 800 mm of Z.
Length is easy to add to a machine and hard to keep fast. Hedelius addresses that with a travelling column on a bottom-mounted cast iron bridge, and quotes rapid motions and feeds of up to 40 m/min for it. The feed force is 25,000 N at most, and positioning accuracy is stated as A=6 µm/1,000 mm to ISO 230-2, in other words per metre of travel and not over the full axis.
A table this long is seldom filled by one part. More often it holds several set-ups in a row, or it is run in oscillating mode, which Hedelius lists for this model as a way to reduce downtimes in series production. The tool magazine with 45 pockets moves with the column, so the spindle never has to return to one end of the machine for a tool. That matters more here than on the shorter models. Chip-to-chip time is ca. 10.5 s.
Hedelius describes the spindles as liquid-cooled motor spindles with speeds of up to 18,000 rpm and outputs of up to 35 kW. In detail the data sheet lists SK40 / BT40 at 14,000 rpm with 117 Nm and 22 kW or 183 Nm and 29 kW, and HSK A63 at 18,000 rpm with 136 Nm. The machine weighs 14,700 kg (32,407 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,600 mm of X travel with 40 m/min feeds on a bottom-mounted cast iron bridge
- Fixed 4,080 x 700 mm table for 3,000 kg (6,614 lb)
- Travelling magazine with 45 pockets: no return trip along X for a tool change
- Oscillating machining listed for series production
- Liquid-cooled motor spindles up to 18,000 rpm and 35 kW
Limitations
- The table is long but only 700 mm deep, matching the 700 mm Y travel
- No spindle above 35 kW in the data sheet for this series
- 14,700 kg (32,407 lb) and a table over four metres long need a prepared floor and route
- Tool diameter is 75 mm with every pocket full; 100 or 125 mm needs free adjoining places as an option

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Travels are 3,600 mm in X, 700 mm in Y and 800 mm in Z. The fixed table's clamping area is 4,080 x 700 mm and it carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb). The spindle distance to the table ranges from 15 to 815 mm.
02
Hedelius quotes rapid motions and feeds of up to 40 m/min for the travelling column on its bottom-mounted cast iron bridge. Because the tool magazine travels with the column, a tool change takes ca. 10.5 s chip to chip wherever the spindle is along the axis.
03
Up to 35 kW at 18,000 rpm with 136 Nm in HSK A63. The SK40 / BT40 spindles run at 14,000 rpm with 117 Nm and 22 kW or with 183 Nm and 29 kW. Hedelius describes them as liquid-cooled motor spindles.
04
The data sheet states a positioning accuracy of A=6 µm/1,000 mm to ISO 230-2 for X, Y and Z. The figure is given per 1,000 mm, so it should not be read as the error over the whole 3,600 mm axis. Ask Hedelius for the acceptance values over the full travel.
