We do not have a price for the Hedelius FORTE 10-6200 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hedelius FORTE 10-6200 rounds off the FORTE 10 series with a 6,200 mm (244.1 in) X travel. It is the largest 3-axis machine Hedelius builds with SK50 tooling: a travelling column centre with 1,000 mm of Y, 1,165 mm of Z, and a fixed table of 6,680 x 1,000 mm that carries 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).
Hedelius is specific about how this one is built. The travelling column and the machine table are heavy grey cast iron, which the maker calls an essential criterion for an SK50 machine if surface quality is to stay high and tool wear low in difficult materials. The axes run on generously dimensioned recirculating roller guides, with direct Heidenhain measuring systems in all axes. At 31,500 kg (69,444 lb) the machine weight bears that description out.
The mass is there to support the spindle. It produces 300 Nm and 50 kW, with a top speed of 8,000 or 12,000 rpm, and Hedelius rates it at 1,050 cm3/min in E335/St60-2. Feed force is 34,000 N. SK50 and BT50 are the standard tool systems and HSK A100 the optional one.
A six-metre table can be worked as one or as two. The data sheet lists pendulum operation as 2,765 x 2,765 mm. Tooling is 40 places as standard with access to up to 192 tools, each up to 400 mm long and 12 kg, changed in ca. 15 s chip to chip. Accessories named for the series include rotary tables, vacuum pumps and pick-up magazines for extra-long tools.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 6,200 mm and the clamping area 6,680 x 1,000 mm. The table load is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). Y travel is 1,000 mm and Z travel 1,165 mm, with a spindle distance of 20 to 1,185 mm above the table.
02
The travelling column and machine table are made of heavy grey cast iron. Hedelius calls that an essential criterion for an SK50 machine to ensure high surface quality and low tool wear even in difficult-to-machine materials. The standard machine weighs 31,500 kg.
03
Hedelius lists generously dimensioned recirculating roller guides and direct Heidenhain measuring systems in all axes. The stated positioning accuracy is A=6 µm/1,000 mm to ISO 230-2, a per-metre value, so ask for the protocol over the whole 6,200 mm.

40 tools as standard for SK50, BT50 or HSK A100, with access to up to 192 tools as an extension. Tools may be 400 mm long, 12 kg and 100 mm in diameter, or 140 mm with free adjoining places. Chip-to-chip time is ca. 15 s.
