Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hedelius FORTE 65 Single 1320 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hedelius FORTE 65 Single 1320 is the middle model of the compact FORTE 3-axis line, a travelling column machine with 1,320 x 650 x 600 mm of travel (52.0 x 25.6 x 23.6 in) over a fixed 1,500 x 650 mm table. Hedelius sells it as a small vertical centre with a large tool changer, and the data sheet backs that up with 65 places as standard.
Compared with the entry model the difference is not just size. This is the smallest FORTE for which the data sheet lists the 50 kW spindle: HSK A63, 15,000 rpm, 217 Nm, rated at 600 cm3/min of milling and a Ø 50 mm drill in E335/St60-2. The other four spindles are SK40 / BT40 at 14,000 rpm with 22 kW or 29 kW, and HSK A63 at 18,000 rpm with 35 kW or 14,000 rpm with 22 kW. Maximum feed force is 25,000 N.
Table load is printed as 1,200 / 2,000 kg. The data sheet does not explain the two figures, so ask which one applies to the configuration you are quoted. The table has five 18 mm T-slots at 125 mm spacing and the spindle distance spans 120 to 720 mm. Because the column moves and the table is fixed, Hedelius notes that the dynamics do not depend on the workpiece weight.
The magazine can grow from 65 to 90 places and, with standby cabinets, to a theoretical 329. Tools can be 330 mm long, and a change takes ca. 9.3 s chip to chip. Direct position measuring systems on all axes are standard. The machine weighs 8,300 kg (18,298 lb), with a transport width of 2,985 / 2,760 mm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 65 tools as standard on a machine with 1,320 mm of X travel
- 50 kW, 217 Nm HSK A63 spindle listed in the data sheet, rated for 600 cm3/min in E335/St60-2
- Fixed 1,500 x 650 mm table, with table load figures of 1,200 / 2,000 kg
- Direct position measuring systems on all axes as standard
- Spindle distance of 120 to 720 mm leaves room for tall fixtures
Limitations
- The two table load figures, 1,200 and 2,000 kg, are not explained in the data sheet
- Three linear axes only; any fourth axis is an accessory
- Tool weight is limited to 5 kg and tool diameter to 75 mm with every place occupied
- Z travel of 600 mm limits tall workpieces once fixture and tool length are added

Frequently Asked Questions
01
1,320 mm in X, 650 mm in Y and 600 mm in Z. The clamping area of the fixed table is 1,500 x 650 mm, with five 18 mm T-slots at 125 mm spacing. The spindle distance is 120 to 720 mm and feeds reach 40 m/min on all three axes.
02
The data sheet prints 1,200 / 2,000 kg (2,646 / 4,409 lb) without saying what distinguishes the two values. Treat 1,200 kg as the safe planning figure until Hedelius confirms the higher one for your machine.
03
The HSK A63 spindle with 217 Nm and 50 kW at 15,000 rpm. Hedelius rates it at 600 cm3/min milling, a Ø 50 mm drill and an M 27 thread in E335/St60-2. For higher speed there is an 18,000 rpm HSK A63 unit with 35 kW, and the product page shows a 24,000 rpm unit with 30 kW.
04
65 tools as standard. The data sheet's theoretical capacities are 65 / 90 / 135 / 180 / 245 / 329, the upper figures with standby cabinet magazines behind the machine. Maximum tool length is 330 mm and chip-to-chip time is ca. 9.3 s for a pre-selected tool.
