Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford MVP-13 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford MVP-13 is a linear-guideway vertical machining center with 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X travel, 700 mm (27.6 in) of Z and a 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1 x 27.6 in) table rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb). Hartford's page lists both #40 and #50 spindles for it.
A note on the Y axis first. The maker's table prints a Y travel that cannot be reconciled with the 700 mm deep table, so this page leaves the figure out. On the other MVP models Y travel is close to the table depth; for the MVP-13 the value should be taken from Hartford's quotation.
This is the first MVP size with a gear-driven spindle. In #50 the table lists a gear spindle at 6,000 rpm beside a DDS spindle at 10,000 / 12,000 rpm, which gives the machine a low-speed option for large cutters in steel and cast iron. The #40 spindles are the familiar ones: 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm by pulley and 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 / 20,000 rpm as DDS. The spindle motor is 7.5 / 11 kW, with 11 / 15 kW and 15 / 18.5 kW as options (Cont. / 30 min).
Seven T-slots run along the table, listed as 18 x 100 (7) mm. The ATC row shows an arm-type changer with 24 tools, or 30. The tool shank row names only BT40 with its alternatives, including HSK A63, even though #50 spindles are listed above it; the BT50 shank therefore needs confirming with Hartford.

- 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X travel with 700 mm (27.6 in) of Z
- Table rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) with seven T-slots
- #40 DDS spindle up to 20,000 rpm for finishing work
- Motor options up to 15 / 18.5 kW (Cont. / 30 min)
Limitations
- The Y travel printed on the maker's page is not usable and must be confirmed
- The tool shank row lists BT40 only, although #50 spindles are offered
- Magazine capacity is given as 24 tools, or 30, with no larger option on this page
- No separate motor row for the #50 spindle, unlike the MVP-11 and MVP-16

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is not stated reliably. Hartford's product page prints a Y travel that exceeds what a 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1 x 27.6 in) table allows, which looks like a typing error, so the figure is omitted here. X travel is 1,500 mm (59.1 in) and Z travel is 700 mm (27.6 in).
02
For #40: a pulley spindle at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm and a DDS spindle at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 / 20,000 rpm. For #50: a gear spindle at 6,000 rpm and a DDS spindle at 10,000 / 12,000 rpm.
03
The average load rating is 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) on a 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1 x 27.6 in) table with T-slots listed as 18 x 100 (7) mm. The MVP-11, one size down, is rated for 1,000 kg (2,205 lb).
04
The MVP-16 is larger, with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X, 820 mm (32.3 in) of Y, a 1,750 x 820 mm (68.9 x 32.3 in) table and a 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) load rating. Its #50 gear spindle is listed at 6,000 / 8,000 rpm and it offers a box-guideway Z axis.
