How much does the Fidia Linea S6 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia Linea S6 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia Linea S6 is the longest Linea S gantry, with 6,200 mm (244 in) of X travel for aluminium aerospace structures. Y is 3,000 mm (118 in) and Z is 1,250 mm (49 in), the same as on the shorter sizes.
Length changes how the machine is used. Over that travel a shop can run one long structural part or line up several shorter ones in a single cycle. Because the workpiece table is a cast iron unit independent of the side walls and anchored to the foundation, the clearance under the head can be adjusted to production needs.
X and Y run at 60 m/min, Z at 30 m/min. On a long axis that speed matters less for cutting than for the moves between features at opposite ends of the part. The M5S head, a symmetrical cast iron fork, swings ±110° on A and ±360° on C; Fidia describes its tandem dual motors as zero backlash and maintenance free.
There are two spindles: the M5S/55-24 with 55 kW and 88 Nm on HSK-A63 at 24,000 1/min or 20,000 1/min, and the M5S/65-15 with 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100 at 15,000 1/min or 12,000 1/min. The Linea S4 stops at 4,500 mm (177 in) of X.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 6,200 mm (244 in) of X travel, the longest in the Linea S range
- Same 3,000 mm (118 in) Y and 1,250 mm (49 in) Z as the shorter sizes, so programs and fixtures transfer
- M5S head with zero-backlash tandem drives on A and C
- Adaptive control is a standard feature of the Fidia CNC
Limitations
- A long gantry axis takes floor space: plan for well over 6,200 mm (244 in) of length
- Z speed of 30 m/min against 60 m/min in X and Y
- Only two spindles are listed, both in the M5S head
- No tool magazine capacity or table load is stated

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 6,200 mm (244 in), with 3,000 mm (118 in) of Y and 1,250 mm (49 in) of Z. It is the longest of the three Linea S versions; all three have the same Y and Z.
02
The M5S, which Fidia calls a symmetrical bi-rotary head for aerospace machining. Its body is cast iron, A travel is ±110° and C travel is ±360°. Tandem dual motors drive both axes, and high-torque hydraulic brakes can lock them in any position.
03
Maximum power is 55 kW with the M5S/55-24 spindle or 65 kW with the M5S/65-15. Maximum torque is 88 Nm and 124 Nm respectively. The 55 kW spindle uses HSK-A63 and the 65 kW spindle uses HSK-A100.
04
The Linea S has a Fidia CNC with adaptive control as a standard feature, and Fidia states it is also available with the Siemens Sinumerik ONE. The brochure names the FIDIA C20/C20-Vision control for the Fidia version.
