Overview

Feeler's FDM-5235 is a five-metre machine on the wide table: 5,200 mm (204.7 in) of X travel, 3,400 mm (133.9 in) of Y and a 5,000 × 3,000 mm (196.9 × 118.1 in) table. Load is 26 ton, or 29 ton by the bracketed figure.

On a table of this area, time is lost between cuts more than in them. Tools wear out mid-job, a head has to be swapped to reach a side wall, and each manual intervention means a person climbing onto a machine the size of a room. Feeler addresses that directly: the FDM Series supports automatic head and tool changing, enabling, in the maker's words, true production automation.

The magazine row shows what that can mean in practice. Twenty-four tools is the listed capacity, and the bracketed range runs from 32 to 90. With sister tools loaded for long finishing passes and separate tool sets for each head, the larger magazines are easy to fill. The attachment heads and the head-change station are not itemised, so they belong on the list of things to specify.

X and Y rapid at 15 m/min (591 ipm), the last length of the 35 group to do so on X, and Z at 12 m/min (472 ipm). The spindle is listed at 6,000 rpm on BT/DIN/CAT 50, with 4,000-8,000 rpm and #40 bracketed. Y can be 4,000 mm (157.5 in) and Z, listed at 800 mm (31.5 in), 1,000-1,400 mm.
