Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford SW-320 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford SW-320 offers three Z strokes, which no other SW model does. The Z travel row reads 780 opt. 920 /1,070 mm. It is a box-guideway double-column machining center with 3,100 mm (122.0 in) of X travel and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y.
Choosing Z on a bridge machine is a trade. A longer ram reaches deeper into a die cavity or over a taller part, but it also hangs further below the crossbeam when extended. With 780 mm, 920 mm and 1,070 mm on offer, the SW-320 can be matched to the height of the work instead of taking the longest ram by default.
The base spindle motor is 18.5/22 kW, one step above the 15/18.5 kW of the SW-316, with 22/26 kW and 30/37 kW as options (Cont. / 30 min). The spindle is a #50 gear head at 6,000 / 8,000 rpm. Hartford describes the head as self-made, with low-speed force for heavy cutting.
The table measures 3,000 x 1,830 mm (118.1 x 72.0 in) and carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb). Tool storage is an arm-type magazine with 32, 40 or 60 tools. The frame has three box guideways on the column and a slant beam with increased way width.
