Overview

The Durma PBF 30120 is a three-metre hydraulic press brake rated at 120 ton, the format most sheet metal shops treat as their standard machine. Bending length is 3,050 mm (120.1 in) and the columns stand 2,550 mm (100.4 in) apart. In the PBF series, Durma's basic line, it is the lighter of two machines of this length.

What does 120 ton cover? Across three metres it handles the usual run of mild steel sheet with standard V dies, and shorter parts in heavier plate. The PBF 30200 has the same bed with 200 ton and should be the choice when thick plate is bent at full length. This model answers with a smaller motor, 11 kW (14.8 hp) against 15 kW (20.1 hp) on the PBF 30200, and a weight of 5,900 kg (13,007 lb).

The manual crowning system is standard here, and CNC controlled motorized crowning is an option. Stroke is 180 mm (7.1 in) and daylight 375 mm (14.8 in), in keeping with a series that Durma describes as built for work that does not need a high stroke. The throat is 250 mm (9.8 in).

The beam approaches at 100 mm/sec, works at 9 mm/sec and returns at 77 mm/sec. A servo motor drives the back gauge X axis over 620 mm (24.4 in) on a ballscrew and linear guides, with manual R adjustment. Programs are made on the DT 10 control, which Durma lists with 2D colour graphics and D-Bend offline software.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 120 ton over 3,050 mm (120.1 in), the common general-fabrication format
  • Manual crowning system is standard equipment
  • 11 kW (14.8 hp) motor and 5,900 kg (13,007 lb) machine weight
  • Servo back gauge with 620 mm (24.4 in) of X travel at 250 mm/sec
  • DT 10 control with D-Bend offline software

Limitations

  • Stroke of 180 mm (7.1 in) and daylight of 375 mm (14.8 in) limit deep boxes and tall tooling
  • Throat depth is 250 mm (9.8 in)
  • Standard back gauge is X only with manual R; motorized X, R is an option
  • The standard front safety system and side guards are marked Non-CE

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How much force and length does the PBF 30120 have?

120 ton over a bending length of 3,050 mm (120.1 in), with 2,550 mm (100.4 in) between the columns. Stroke is 180 mm (7.1 in), daylight 375 mm (14.8 in) and throat depth 250 mm (9.8 in).

02 Should I choose the PBF 30120 or the PBF 30200?

Both bend 3,050 mm (120.1 in). The PBF 30200 offers 200 ton, a 210 mm (8.3 in) stroke and 445 mm (17.5 in) of daylight, with a 15 kW (20.1 hp) motor and 8,160 kg (17,989 lb) of weight. The PBF 30120 is the lighter machine for thinner sheet, at 120 ton and 11 kW (14.8 hp).

03 What crowning does the PBF 30120 have?

A manual crowning system is standard; Durma names the PBF 30120, PBF 30200 and PBF 40160 for it. A CNC controlled motorized crowning system is available as an option.

04 What are the speeds of the PBF 30120?

Y rapid speed is 100 mm/sec, Y working speed 9 mm/sec and Y return speed 77 mm/sec. The X axis of the back gauge works at 250 mm/sec.
