Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Durma AD-ES 2040 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 2,050 mm (80.7 in) of bending length and 40 ton, the Durma AD-ES 2040 is the longer of the two AD-ES electric press brakes. It keeps the tonnage of the AD-ES 1240 and spreads it over a longer bed, so it is a machine for longer parts in thin sheet, not for heavier bending.
A long, lightly loaded bend is exactly where bed deflection shows up as an angle that opens toward the middle. Durma answers that in the standard equipment: CNC controlled motorized crowning is listed for the AD-ES 2040 by name. The throat is deeper as well, 350 mm (13.8 in), and there is 1,700 mm (66.9 in) between the columns.
The drive has no hydraulics. A servo motor works through a reducer onto a ball screw and nut, and the beam runs at 115 mm/sec in rapid and in return, with a bending speed of 10-20 mm/sec. Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in) and daylight 440 mm (17.3 in). Durma says the welded body and upper table are stress relieved.
The DA-66S control and four axes (Y1, Y2, X and R) come as standard. Back gauge travel is 650 mm (25.6 in) in X and 250 mm (9.8 in) in R. For parts that need two independent stops across this length, the motorized Z1 and Z2 axes are an option worth pricing in from the start. The machine is 2,870 mm (113.0 in) long, 1,625 mm (64.0 in) wide and 2,800 mm (110.2 in) high.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- CNC controlled motorized crowning is standard on this model
- 2,050 mm (80.7 in) bending length with 1,700 mm (66.9 in) between columns
- 350 mm (13.8 in) throat depth
- Oil-free electric drive with 115 mm/sec rapid and return speed
- DA-66S control with Y1, Y2, X and R axes as standard
Limitations
- 40 ton over 2,050 mm (80.7 in) limits material thickness on full-length bends
- Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in), the same as on the shorter AD-ES 1240
- Motorized Z1 and Z2 back gauge axes cost extra
- No machine weight could be taken from the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Yes. The standard equipment list reads "CNC Controlled Motorized Crowning for AD-ES 2040". Durma describes the system as calculating the bending differences that arise from the material or other factors and correcting them at each point of the bend.
02
40 ton of bending force on a bending length of 2,050 mm (80.7 in). The distance between columns is 1,700 mm (66.9 in), throat depth 350 mm (13.8 in), stroke 200 mm (7.9 in) and daylight 440 mm (17.3 in). Working height is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).
03
The DA-66S control is standard, with four axes: Y1, Y2, X and R. The servo motor back gauge runs on linear guides and a ballscrew, with 650 mm (25.6 in) of X travel and 250 mm (9.8 in) of R travel. The DA-69S control and motorized Z1, Z2 axes are options.
04
An electric drive made up of a servo motor, a reducer and a ball screw and nut, which Durma calls a hydraulic oil-free drive system. Rapid speed and return speed are 115 mm/sec and bending speed is listed as 10-20 mm/sec.
