Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Durma PBF 40160 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Durma PBF 40160 is the four-metre model of the PBF hydraulic press brake series: 160 ton across a bending length of 4,050 mm (159.4 in). It is the longest PBF, the heaviest at 10,500 kg (23,148 lb), and in several respects the best equipped frame of the line.
Length changes the geometry. There is 3,600 mm (141.7 in) between the columns, so a three-metre sheet passes straight through and can be bent to any depth the back gauge allows. The throat, 300 mm (11.8 in), is deeper than the 250 mm (9.8 in) of the PBF 30200 and every other model in the series. Daylight is 460 mm (18.1 in), the largest in the PBF table, on a 200 mm (7.9 in) stroke.
It is also quick for its size. Rapid speed is 160 mm/sec and return 140 mm/sec, with a working speed of 10 mm/sec. Only the small PBF 1030 has a faster approach. Long panels with several bends therefore do not wait on the beam.
Spread over four metres, 160 ton is a sheet rating, not a plate rating. Deflection over that span is the reason the manual crowning system is standard and why the CNC controlled motorized version is worth considering. The back gauge has a servo X axis with 620 mm (24.4 in) of travel and manual R as standard; long parts gauge better with the optional motorized X, R system and additional fingers. A 15 kW (20.1 hp) motor drives the machine, which occupies 4,850 mm (190.9 in) by 1,900 mm (74.8 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,050 mm (159.4 in) bending length with 3,600 mm (141.7 in) between columns
- Deepest throat of the series at 300 mm (11.8 in) and the most daylight at 460 mm (18.1 in)
- 160 mm/sec rapid and 140 mm/sec return speed
- Manual crowning system is standard
- 160 ton from a 15 kW (20.1 hp) motor
Limitations
- 160 ton over four metres is less force per metre than the 200 ton PBF 30200 offers
- Needs 4,850 mm (190.9 in) by 1,900 mm (74.8 in) of floor and carries 10,500 kg (23,148 lb)
- Standard back gauge has a single servo axis (X) with manual R
- Front safety system and side guards are listed as Non-CE in the standard equipment

Frequently Asked Questions
01
160 ton over a bending length of 4,050 mm (159.4 in). The distance between columns is 3,600 mm (141.7 in), throat depth 300 mm (11.8 in), stroke 200 mm (7.9 in) and daylight 460 mm (18.1 in).
02
The beam approaches at 160 mm/sec, bends at 10 mm/sec and returns at 140 mm/sec. The back gauge X axis runs at 250 mm/sec over 620 mm (24.4 in). The return speed is the highest in the PBF table.
03
Yes, a manual crowning system is standard on the PBF 40160. Durma also offers a CNC controlled motorized crowning system as an option for this model, which sets the correction from the program instead of by hand.
