Price estimate
We do not have a price for the CHMER G64F that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The CHMER G64F wire EDM pairs the 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in) travel of the largest G-series frame with the highest workpiece rating in that series, 600 kg (1,323 lb). Z travel is 300 mm (11.8 in). Its tank capacity is listed at 340 L (90 gal), less than half of the 760 L (201 gal) given for the G64S on the same travels.
Heavy plates are the reason to pick this variant. A 910 x 700 x 295 mm (35.8 x 27.6 x 11.6 in) steel block can weigh more than the 450 kg (992 lb) the G64S is rated for, and the G64F is the variant with the margin for it. Taper capability is unchanged at ±21°/100 with the wide-angled nozzle, on 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel.
Axis drives are AC servo motors and feed is limited to 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm). The wire range is 0.15-0.3 mm with 0.25 mm standard, fed at up to 300 mm/sec. Standard equipment includes a 1T chiller on the flushing circuit and a 2T chiller on the submerged circuit, plus ion exchange resins for both. If long unattended runs are planned, note that Auto Wire Threading (AWT), the 30kgs wire feeder and the wire chopper all sit on the option list. CHMER publishes two different sets of outside dimensions and weights for this model; they are left out of the table here until CHMER confirms them.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 600 kg (1,323 lb) workpiece rating, the highest in the G series
- 600 x 400 x 300 mm (23.6 x 15.7 x 11.8 in) of X, Y and Z travel
- ±21°/100 taper rating with 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) U and V travel
- Smaller 340 L (90 gal) tank means less water to fill, chill and deionise
Limitations
- Tank capacity of 340 L (90 gal) is well below the 760 L (201 gal) of the G64S
- Feed rate tops out at 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) on AC servo drives
- AWT, 30kgs wire feeder and wire chopper are all options
- Outside dimensions and machine weight are published inconsistently and need confirming

Frequently Asked Questions
01
For workpiece weight. The G64F is rated for 600 kg (1,323 lb) and the G64S for 450 kg (992 lb), with the same 600 x 400 x 300 mm travels and the same ±21°/100 taper rating. The G64F's tank is listed at 340 L (90 gal) and the G64S's at 760 L (201 gal).
02
Up to 910 x 700 x 295 mm (35.8 x 27.6 x 11.6 in) and 600 kg (1,323 lb). X and Y travel is 600 x 400 mm, so a plate at the full listed size cannot be reached everywhere by the wire in one clamping.
03
Wire from 0.15 to 0.3 mm (0.006-0.012 in) in diameter, with 0.25 mm (0.010 in) as standard. The maximum wire feed rate is 300 mm/sec (11.8 in/sec) and wire tension is 300-2,500 gf. Diamond guides and a spool of brass wire are standard accessories.
04
Yes. The standard accessory list names a 1T water chiller for flushing and a 2T water chiller for submerged work. A DC inverter chiller is offered as an option. Paper filters and ion exchange resins for both circuits are also standard.
