Price estimate
We do not have a price for the CHMER G64S that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in) of X and Y travel and 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z, the CHMER G64S is the large-travel wire EDM of the G series. It is also where the series changes taper class: the table lists ±21°/100 with a wide-angled nozzle and 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel, where the G32S and G43S are limited to 60 x 60 mm.
What sets the G64S apart from the G64F, which shares its travels, is the tank and the load. This machine has a 760 L (201 gal) tank and a 450 kg (992 lb) workpiece limit. The G64F is listed with a 340 L (90 gal) tank and 600 kg (1,323 lb). Both take a workpiece of 910 x 700 x 295 mm (35.8 x 27.6 x 11.6 in).
The rest follows the series pattern. AC servo motors drive the axes at up to 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm). Wire of 0.15-0.3 mm runs at up to 300 mm/sec with 300-2,500 gf of tension. Two 2T water chillers come as standard, one on the flushing circuit and one on the submerged circuit. At 3,800 kg (8,377 lb) and 2,800 x 2,450 x 2,250 mm, it needs noticeably more floor than the G32S at 2,375 kg (5,236 lb). Auto wire threading remains an option.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 600 x 400 x 300 mm (23.6 x 15.7 x 11.8 in) travels, the largest in the G series
- Taper rating of ±21°/100 with 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel
- 760 L (201 gal) tank, more than twice the 340 L (90 gal) listed for the G64F
- 2T water chillers on both the flushing and the submerged circuit are standard
- Accepts workpieces up to 910 x 700 x 295 mm (35.8 x 27.6 x 11.6 in)
Limitations
- Workpiece weight is limited to 450 kg (992 lb), below the 600 kg (1,323 lb) of the G64F
- At 3,800 kg (8,377 lb) and 2,800 mm wide it takes more floor than the smaller G models
- AC servo drives with 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) feed; linear motor axes are not part of this series
- Auto Wire Threading (AWT) and the 30kgs wire feeder are extra

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Both have 600 x 400 x 300 mm travels and the same 910 x 700 x 295 mm workpiece size. The G64S is listed with a 760 L (201 gal) tank and a 450 kg (992 lb) workpiece limit. The G64F is listed with a 340 L (90 gal) tank and a 600 kg (1,323 lb) limit.
02
The taper row reads ±21°/100 with a wide-angled nozzle (DA+DB=15mm). U and V travel is 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in). The smaller G32S and G43S are listed at ±14.5°/80 with 60 x 60 mm of U and V travel.
03
Outside dimensions are 2,800 x 2,450 x 2,250 mm (110.2 x 96.5 x 88.6 in), width by depth by height, and the machine weighs 3,800 kg (8,377 lb). Add the 760 L (201 gal) of water in the tank and a workpiece of up to 450 kg (992 lb) when working out the floor load.
04
Paper filters, diamond guides, upper and lower flushing nozzles, energizing carbides, a diamond guide remove jig, brass wire, an alignment jig, ion exchange resins for both circuits, auto data recovery after a blackout and two 2T water chillers. AWT, the wire chopper and the swinging panel are options.
