How much does the CHMER AW5E cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the CHMER AW5E that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 500 mm (19.7 in) of X travel on a 300 mm (11.8 in) Y, the CHMER AW5E is the long-and-narrow member of the AMStech AW-E servo wire EDM series. Z travel is 260 mm (10.2 in). Compared with the AW4E it adds length in X only.
U and V travel is larger than on the AW4E, 120 x 120 mm (4.7 x 4.7 in), and the taper rating rises with it to ±21°/140mm with the wide-angle nozzle. That is the same rating CHMER gives the AW6E, so the two larger AW-E machines share a taper class and differ in table size and height.
The workpiece envelope is 850 x 550 x 255 mm (33.5 x 21.7 x 10.0 in) and the load limit 600 kg (1,323 lb). Rectangular die sections, punch holders and stripper plates that are long in one direction are the natural fit. If the part needs more Y or more than 255 mm of height, the AW6E is the one to look at.
All axes are AC servo driven, and rapid traverse is 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) at most. Wire is 0.15-0.3 mm at 300-2,500 gf. Weight is listed as 4,900 kg + 900 kg, only slightly above the AW4E, and the footprint is 2,900 x 2,600 mm (114.2 x 102.4 in). The model page has no accessory list.
