CHMER GX640L+ — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER GX640L+ that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Linear motors on X and Y, 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in) of travel and a 600 kg (1,323 lb) workpiece limit: that is the CHMER GX640L+ wire EDM in one line. Z travel is 300 mm (11.8 in), and the column in CHMER's table is headed GX640L+ SUBMERGED.

The larger of the two GX+ machines differs from the GX430L+ in more than table size. Its U and V axes travel 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) and the taper rating rises to ±21°/100 with the wide-angled nozzle; the GX430L+ is listed at ±14.5°/80. Workpieces up to 910 x 700 x 295 mm (35.8 x 27.6 x 11.6 in) fit the tank.

Feed rate on the linear axes is a maximum of 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm). U, V and Z are AC servo driven. The wire system accepts 0.15-0.3 mm wire, with 0.25 mm standard, tensioned between 300 and 2,500 gf and fed at up to 300 mm/sec.

A buyer should note what the page leaves out. There is no accessory list for this model and the table has no outside dimensions, only a machine weight of 3,800 kg (8,377 lb) and a supply of 3 Phase 220 ±10% 11kva. Whether automatic wire threading and a chiller are part of the base machine is a question for the quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the main specifications of the GX640L+?

X, Y and Z travel of 600 x 400 x 300 mm (23.6 x 15.7 x 11.8 in), U and V travel of 100 x 100 mm, a maximum workpiece of 910 x 700 x 295 mm and 600 kg (1,323 lb), and a machine weight of 3,800 kg (8,377 lb).

02 How is the GX640L+ different from the GX430L+?

It is larger in every travel and has a wider taper rating: ±21°/100 on 100 x 100 mm U and V axes, against ±14.5°/80 on 60 x 60 mm for the GX430L+. The GX430L+ carries 350 kg (772 lb) and weighs 2,600 kg (5,732 lb). Both list the same 1,800 mm/min feed and the same power supply.

03 Which axes of the GX640L+ are linear motor driven?

X and Y. The drive row reads XY - Linear Motor / UVZ - AC Servo Motor. The maximum X Y feed rate is 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm) and the maximum wire feed rate is 300 mm/sec (11.8 in/sec).

04 What electrical supply does the GX640L+ require?

CHMER's table states the maximum power consumption as 3 Phase 220 ±10% 11kva. No air or water service figures are given on the page, so ask CHMER for the full installation requirements along with the footprint.
