Price estimate
We do not have a price for the CHMER AW4E that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The CHMER AW4E is the smallest model of the AMStech AW-E series, the AC servo counterpart to the linear motor AW machines. It offers 400 x 300 mm (15.7 x 11.8 in) of X and Y travel and 260 mm (10.2 in) of Z, and every axis is driven by an AC servo motor.
The figure that stands out is the taper rating: ±21°/110mm with a wide-angle nozzle, on 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel. Small servo-driven wire machines are often limited to shallower angles, so this one suits extrusion dies and relief cuts that need real draft in a compact work area.
Maximum X, Y rapid traverse is 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm). That is the main difference in the table from the AW3L, a linear motor machine of similar travel that lists 1,500 mm/min (59.1 ipm). The AW4E also runs conventional wire only, 0.15-0.3 mm with 0.25 mm standard, at 300-2,500 gf.
Workpieces can measure up to 750 x 550 x 255 mm (29.5 x 21.7 x 10.0 in) and weigh up to 500 kg (1,102 lb). The machine itself is listed at 4,700 kg + 900 kg and occupies 2,850 x 2,600 x 2,220 mm (112.2 x 102.4 x 87.4 in). CHMER's page gives neither a tank volume nor an accessory list for the model.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- ±21°/110mm taper rating on 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) U and V axes
- 400 x 300 x 260 mm (15.7 x 11.8 x 10.2 in) travels
- Takes workpieces up to 750 x 550 x 255 mm and 500 kg (1,102 lb)
- Substantial build for the travel: listed weight 4,700 kg + 900 kg
Limitations
- Rapid traverse limited to 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) on AC servo drives
- Minimum wire is 0.15 mm; the AW3L goes down to 0.1 mm
- No tank capacity or accessory list on the model page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The AW4E uses AC servo motors and lists 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) of rapid traverse; the AW3L has X and Y linear motors and lists 1,500 mm/min (59.1 ipm). The AW3L also runs wire from 0.1 mm, where the AW4E starts at 0.15 mm. Travels are close: 400 x 300 x 260 mm here, 370 x 270 x 260 mm on the AW3L.
02
The taper row reads ±21°/110mm (Wide Angle Nozzle DA+DB=15mm). U and V axis travel is 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in).
03
Maximum workpiece size is 750 x 550 x 255 mm (29.5 x 21.7 x 10.0 in) and maximum weight is 500 kg (1,102 lb). Z travel is 260 mm (10.2 in).
04
Outside dimensions are 2,850 x 2,600 x 2,220 mm (112.2 x 102.4 x 87.4 in), width by depth by height. The weight row reads 4,700 kg + 900 kg (10,362 lb + 1,984 lb), and the table does not explain the second figure.
