Campro CPL-158 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro CPL-158 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

An 8 in chuck on the smallest bed in the range: the Campro CPL-158 is a short, stout CNC lathe for chucking work. Its maximum turning diameter is Ø270 mm (10.6 in) and its maximum turning length only 320 mm (12.5 in), on the same 2,962 x 1,591 mm (116 in x 62 in) floor plan as the CPL-106.

Compared with that sibling, the spindle is a size larger in every respect. The nose is A2-6, the bearing diameter 100 mm (3.9 in), the hole through the draw tube Ø52 mm (Ø2 in) and the motor 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP). Top speed is 4,200 rpm. The CPL-106 has an A2-5 nose and 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP). The extra spindle takes room from the axes: X travel is 135 + 20 mm and Z travel 320 mm (12.5 in), each slightly less than on the CPL-106. Machine weight is 3,500 kg (7,716 lb).

So this is the model for discs, flanges, rings and short shafts that need torque at the chuck but no length. Tooling steps up as well, to □25 / Ø40 mm tooling (O.D. / I.D.) in a 10-station turret. A 10 in chuck is offered as an option.

The rest follows the small CPL machines. Rapids are 24 m/min in X and Z on linear guideways, tool change takes 0.3 sec, and the tailstock has a Ø70 mm (Ø2.7 in) quill with 80 mm (3.1 in) of travel. Campro lists a fully enclosed splash guard and ventilation at the heat sources. Coolant capacity is 120 L (31 gal) and power capacity 15 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 8 in chuck and A2-6 spindle in the footprint of the CPL-106: 2,962 x 1,591 mm (116 in x 62 in)
  • 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) motor with a 100 mm (3.9 in) spindle bearing diameter
  • Ø52 mm (Ø2 in) hole through the draw tube for bar work
  • □25 / Ø40 mm tooling in a 10-station turret
  • 10 in chuck available as an option

Limitations

  • Maximum turning length is 320 mm (12.5 in), the shortest in the CPL series
  • Maximum turning diameter of Ø270 mm (10.6 in) is below the Ø290 mm (11.4 in) of the CPL-106
  • 4,200 rpm top speed, against 6,000 rpm on the CPL-106
  • 2-axis only: no C axis, driven tools or sub-spindle in the table
06

Best For

Short chucking parts such as flanges, discs and rings Bar-fed parts up to the Ø52 mm (Ø2 in) draw tube hole Steel parts that need more torque than a 6 in machine gives High-volume second operations in a small footprint
