Campro CPL-106 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro CPL-106 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Campro CPL-106 is a 6 in chuck slant-bed CNC lathe and the fastest-turning model in the CPL series: its A2-5 spindle runs to 6,000 rpm. Maximum turning diameter is Ø290 mm (11.4 in), the standard turning diameter Ø240 mm (9.4 in), and the maximum turning length 350 mm (13.7 in).

Small-diameter work is what the speed is for. Surface speed falls with diameter, so bar parts and small chucked parts need rpm more than they need power, and the CPL-106 is specified accordingly: a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) motor, a Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) hole through the draw tube and a 90 mm (3.5 in) spindle bearing diameter. An 8 in chuck is the listed option.

The machine is a plain 2-axis lathe with a tailstock. X travel is 150 + 20 mm and Z travel 350 mm (13.7 in), both with 24 m/min rapids on what Campro describes as high rigidity, high precision linear guideways. The turret has 10 stations and takes □20 mm O.D. tools and Ø32 mm boring bars, indexing in 0.3 sec. The tailstock quill is Ø70 mm (Ø2.7 in) with 80 mm (3.1 in) of travel and an MT-#4 taper.

Campro builds the series on a one-piece 45° box type structure in cast iron and encloses it fully. With the chip conveyor the floor plan is 2,962 x 1,591 mm (116 in x 62 in). The machine weighs 3,000 kg (6,613 lb), carries a 120 L (31 gal) coolant tank and needs 15 kVA. There is no live tooling on this model; the CPL-10MC is the version with a C axis and driven tools.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 6,000 rpm spindle, the highest speed in the CPL series
  • Compact: 2,962 x 1,591 mm (116 in x 62 in) with chip conveyor and 3,000 kg (6,613 lb)
  • 24 m/min rapids on X and Z with linear guideways
  • 10-station turret with a 0.3 sec tool change time
  • Tailstock with a Ø70 mm (Ø2.7 in) quill included in the table

Limitations

  • Spindle motor of 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) limits depth of cut
  • Hole through the draw tube is Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in), so bar work is limited to small stock
  • Turning length stops at 350 mm (13.7 in)
  • No C axis or driven tools; that is the CPL-10MC

Best For

Small chucked parts up to Ø240 mm (9.4 in) standard turning diameter Bar work through a Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) draw tube High-rpm finishing of small diameters in aluminium and brass Cells and tight floor plans needing a 15 kVA machine

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size of part can the CPL-106 turn?

Maximum turning diameter is Ø290 mm (11.4 in) and the standard turning diameter Ø240 mm (9.4 in). Maximum turning length and distance between centers are both 350 mm (13.7 in). Swing over the bed is Ø450 mm (Ø17.7 in) and over the carriage Ø258 mm (Ø10.1 in).

02 What spindle does the CPL-106 have?

An A2-5 spindle nose with a 6 in hydraulic chuck, or 8 in as an option. Spindle speed is 6,000 rpm and the spindle motor 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP). The hole through the draw tube is Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) and the spindle bearing diameter 90 mm (3.5 in).

03 How is the CPL-106 different from the CPL-158?

They share a floor plan and swing, but the CPL-158 is the heavier-duty spindle: A2-6 nose, 8 in chuck, 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) and 4,200 rpm, with a Ø52 mm (Ø2 in) draw tube hole. The CPL-106 turns faster, 6,000 rpm, and has slightly more Z travel at 350 mm (13.7 in).

04 What tooling does the CPL-106 turret take?

The turret has 10 stations. The O.D. / I.D. row reads □20 / Ø32 mm, meaning 20 mm square shank turning tools and 32 mm boring bars. Tool change time is 0.3 sec. The table lists no driven tool data for this model.
