Campro VT-350 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro VT-350 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Campro VT-350 is a compact vertical CNC lathe: the chuck faces upward, the part is loaded from above and gravity seats it. It has a 12 in chuck on an A2-8 spindle and a maximum turning diameter of Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in).

Vertical lathes of this size are built for short, heavy, disc-shaped parts such as brake discs, hubs, flanges and gear blanks. The figures fit that use. Maximum turning length is only 298 mm (11.7 in). The spindle motor is 22 / 26 kW (35 HP), a large rating for the size, with a 2,000 rpm top speed and a Ø120 mm spindle bearing diameter. The chuck row notes a blocked-center type cylinder, so this is a chucking machine and not a bar machine.

Campro says the machine uses a slant design over the bed for rigidity and chip disposal, a large-span bearing arrangement on an air-tight spindle, and a direct motor drive on the X and Z axes. Travels are 175 + 25 mm in X and 355 mm (14.0 in) in Z, both at 20 m/min. The servo turret has 12 stations for □25 / Ø40 mm (O.D. / I.D.) tooling and changes tools in 0.3 sec.

Floor use is the other attraction. The plan with chip conveyor is 2,115 × 2,735 mm with a height of 2,750 mm, and Campro points to space utilisation as a design goal. The machine weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb), has a 450 L coolant tank, and needs 30 kVA and a hydraulic source of 35~40 kg/cm². Campro's table for this model is metric only; the inch figures on this page are conversions.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 22 / 26 kW (35 HP) spindle motor on a 12 in chuck vertical lathe
  • Vertical layout suits heavy disc-shaped parts and simple loading
  • 12-station servo turret with a 0.3 sec tool change time
  • Small footprint of 2,115 × 2,735 mm with chip conveyor
  • Large 450 L coolant tank for a machine of this size

Limitations

  • Maximum turning length is 298 mm (11.7 in)
  • Blocked-center type cylinder, so no bar work through the spindle
  • Spindle speed limited to 2,000 rpm
  • No driven tools are listed for the turret
06

Best For

Brake discs, hubs and flanges up to Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in) Short heavy castings and forgings loaded from above Automated cells where two vertical lathes work front and back sides Heavy roughing with a 35 HP spindle in a small floor area

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size part can the VT-350 turn?

Maximum turning diameter is Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in) and maximum turning length 298 mm (11.7 in). The table also lists a turning diameter of Ø200 mm and a maximum swing over bed of 400 mm. X travel is 175 + 25 mm and Z travel 355 mm (14.0 in).

02 What is the difference between the VT-350 and the VT-420?

The X axis and the turning diameter. The VT-420 has 210 + 25 mm of X travel and a maximum turning diameter of Ø420 mm (Ø16.5 in), against 175 + 25 mm and Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in) on the VT-350. Chuck, spindle, turret, weight and floor plan are listed the same.

03 What spindle does the VT-350 use?

An A2-8 spindle with a 12 in hydraulic chuck and a blocked-center type cylinder. Maximum speed is 2,000 rpm, the motor is 22 / 26 kW (35 HP) and the spindle bearing diameter is Ø120 mm. Campro describes a large-span bearing arrangement on an air-tight spindle.

04 What services does the VT-350 need?

Power capacity is 30 kVA and the hydraulic source 35~40 kg/cm². The coolant tank holds 450 L. The machine weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and, with the chip conveyor, measures 2,115 × 2,735 x 2,750 mm.
