Campro CPL-208 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro CPL-208 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training

Overview

The Campro CPL-208 is the general-purpose 8 in lathe of the CPL series. It turns up to Ø400 mm (15.7 in) in diameter and 500 mm (19.6 in) in length, with 580 mm (22.8 in) between centers, and its spindle motor is 11 / 15 kW (20 HP).

This is the size most job shops reach for first. The bed is long enough for shafts as well as chucking work. Swing over the bed is Ø540 mm (Ø21.2 in) and the standard turning diameter Ø320 mm (12.5 in). X travel is 200 + 20 mm and Z travel 500 mm (19.6 in).

Spindle hardware is shared with the CPL-158, with an A2-6 nose, a Ø52 mm (Ø2 in) hole through the draw tube and 4,200 rpm, but the motor is a step larger and the tailstock is heavier, with a Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) quill travelling 120 mm (4.7 in). A 10 in chuck is the option. The 10-station turret takes □25 / Ø40 mm tooling (O.D. / I.D.).

If the work needs more than this spindle, the CPL-3510 keeps the same Ø400 mm (15.7 in) maximum turning diameter but adds a 10 in chuck, a Ø75 mm (Ø2.9 in) draw tube hole and 22 / 26 kW (35 HP). The CPL-208 is the lighter, quicker choice, at 4,500 kg (9,920 lb) and 20 kVA.

Campro describes linear guideways on this model and a one-piece 45° box type casting. Rapids are 24 m/min on both axes. The floor plan with chip conveyor is 3,345 x 1,727 mm (131 in x 67 in), and the coolant tank holds 110 L (29 gal).

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the capacities of the CPL-208?

Swing over bed Ø540 mm (Ø21.2 in), swing over carriage Ø335 mm (Ø13.1 in), standard turning diameter Ø320 mm (12.5 in), maximum turning diameter Ø400 mm (15.7 in), maximum turning length 500 mm (19.6 in) and distance between centers 580 mm (22.8 in).

02 What spindle is on the CPL-208?

An A2-6 spindle nose with an 8 in hydraulic chuck, 10 in optional. Speed is 4,200 rpm and the motor 11 / 15 kW (20 HP). The hole through the draw tube is Ø52 mm (Ø2 in). Campro describes an AC spindle motor drive and a finned headstock for heat dissipation.

03 Does the CPL-208 have live tooling?

No. The table lists a 10-station turret with □25 / Ø40 mm (O.D. / I.D.) tooling, with a 0.3 sec tool change time, and no C axis. Campro's live-tool model with the same 8 in chuck is the CPL-20MC, which has a 12-position servo turret and a C axis.

04 What tailstock does the CPL-208 have?

The tailstock quill is Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) in diameter with 120 mm (4.7 in) of travel and an MT-#4 taper. With 580 mm (22.8 in) between centers, shaft work up to the 500 mm (19.6 in) turning length can be supported.
