Campro CPL-10MC — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro CPL-10MC that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Campro CPL-10MC is the smallest of the maker's turning and milling centers: a 6 in chuck slant-bed lathe with a C axis and a 12-position servo live turret. The main spindle runs to 6,000 rpm and the driven tools to 5,000 rpm.

It is the CPL-106 with milling added, and the table shows what the live turret costs in envelope. Maximum turning diameter is 170 mm (6.6 in), where the CPL-106 turns Ø290 mm (11.4 in), and maximum turning length is 315 mm (12.4 in). Milling can be done over 288 mm (11.3 in) of length. Parts for this machine are therefore small: fittings, connectors, pins, valve stems and similar bar or chucked work with cross holes, flats or keyways.

Campro states that the live turret is standard on the MC series and that each tool position can carry a rotating tool. The turret system is VDI-30, which the maker describes as a quick change tooling solution, and the tool change time is 0.2 sec. The turret servo motor is listed at 2.2 / 3.7 kW. The C axis indexes in 0.001° steps, so holes and slots can be placed at any angle and simple contours milled around the diameter.

The spindle is A2-5 with a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) motor and a Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) hole through the draw tube; an 8 in chuck is optional. X travel is 150 + 5 mm and Z travel 320 mm (12.5 in), on linear guideways with 24 m/min rapids. A tailstock with a Ø70 mm (Ø2.7 in) quill is included. The machine weighs 3,200 kg (7,054 lb), fits in 2,962 x 1,625 mm (116 in x 63 in) with its chip conveyor and needs 15 kVA. There is no Y axis on this model.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • C axis with 0.001° indexing and a 12-position servo live turret as standard
  • 6,000 rpm main spindle and 5,000 rpm driven tools
  • VDI-30 quick change turret with a 0.2 sec tool change time
  • Small and light: 2,962 x 1,625 mm (116 in x 63 in), 3,200 kg (7,054 lb)
  • 24 m/min rapids on X and Z with linear guideways

Limitations

  • Maximum turning diameter of 170 mm (6.6 in), well under the Ø290 mm (11.4 in) of the CPL-106
  • Turret servo motor is 2.2 / 3.7 kW, so milling is light
  • No Y axis: off-centre features need the CPL-3010Y or an NT model with Y
  • Coolant tank holds only 90 L (23 gal)

Best For

Small turned parts with cross holes, flats and keyways Bar work through the Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) draw tube hole Replacing a lathe plus a second milling operation on small parts High-rpm work in brass and aluminium

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What milling capability does the CPL-10MC have?

A servo live turret on a VDI-30 system, with a maximum tool speed of 5,000 rpm and a turret servo motor of 2.2 / 3.7 kW, plus a C axis that indexes in 0.001° steps. Campro states that each tool can become a rotating tool. Maximum milling length is 288 mm (11.3 in).

02 How big a part can the CPL-10MC turn?

Maximum turning diameter is 170 mm (6.6 in) and maximum turning length 315 mm (12.4 in). Swing over the bed is 450 mm (17.7 in) and over the carriage 258 mm (10.1 in). X axis travel is 150 + 5 mm and Z axis travel 320 mm (12.5 in).

03 What spindle is on the CPL-10MC?

An A2-5 spindle nose with a 6 in hydraulic chuck, 8 in optional, running to 6,000 rpm on a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) motor. The hole through the draw tube is Ø45 mm (Ø1.7 in) and the spindle bearing diameter Ø90 mm (Ø3.5 in).

04 How does the CPL-10MC compare with the CPL-20MC?

The CPL-20MC is the 8 in chuck version: 260 mm (10.2 in) maximum turning diameter, 470 mm (18.5 in) turning length, an 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) motor at 4,200 rpm and a VDI-40 turret. The CPL-10MC is smaller and faster at the spindle, 6,000 rpm, with a 6 in chuck.
