Overview

The Campro CNV-1050 is the longest CNV model that keeps linear guide ways on every axis. It gives 1,050 mm (41.3 in) of X travel, 540 mm (21.2 in) of Y and 520 mm (20.4 in) of Z, with a 1,150 × 520 mm (45.2 in x 20.4 in) table rated for 600 kg (1,322 lb).

That distinction matters because the next size, the CNV-1100, is built differently. Campro describes box guideways on the Z axis and a counter-balance system for the CNV-1100, and its Z rapid drops to 24 m/min. The CNV-1050 follows the smaller machines instead: precision linear guide ways on all axes, direct drive servo motors with couplings, no counter-balance on Z, and 30 m/min rapids in X, Y and Z.

In practice this is a stretched CNV-850. Column reach is the same 630 mm (24.8 in), Z travel is the same, and the height of 2,680 mm (105 in) is unchanged. It weighs 5,700 kg (12,566 lb), against 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) for the CNV-850, and its table carries 600 kg (1,322 lb) where the CNV-850 carries 500 kg (1,102 lb).

The spindle is the series standard, 8,000 rpm with 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) on a No.40 taper, and can be ordered at 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 rpm. Twenty-four tools sit in the arm type changer. A long table on a 15 kVA machine with a 15 HP motor is suited to plate work, drilling patterns and aluminium, less so to heavy steel roughing. Campro prints inconsistent inch figures for the spindle nose distance; the metric range is 110~630 mm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,050 mm (41.3 in) of X travel with linear guide ways on all axes
  • 30 m/min rapids in X, Y and Z, where the CNV-1100 lists 24 m/min in Z
  • 1,150 × 520 mm (45.2 in x 20.4 in) table carrying 600 kg (1,322 lb)
  • Optional spindles of 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm
  • Power capacity of only 15 kVA for a 1,050 mm (41.3 in) machine

Limitations

  • Y travel of 540 mm (21.2 in) is narrow for the X stroke
  • 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) motor limits heavy roughing
  • Table load of 600 kg (1,322 lb) is below the 700 kg (1,543 lb) of the CNV-1100
  • No box guideway on Z, which Campro fits to the CNV-1100 for rigidity
06

Best For

Long aluminium plates and extrusions up to 1,050 mm (41.3 in) Drilling and tapping patterns across a 1,150 mm (45.2 in) table Three- and four-vise production fixtures Fast light machining where Z-axis speed matters

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the CNV-1050 differ from the CNV-1100?

The CNV-1050 has linear guide ways on all axes, no Z counter-balance and 30 / 30 / 30 m/min rapids. For the CNV-1100 Campro describes box guideways on the Z axis and a counter-balance system, with 30 / 30 / 24 m/min rapids, a 700 kg (1,543 lb) table load and a weight of 6,700 kg (14,770 lb).

02 What is the work envelope of the CNV-1050?

X travel 1,050 mm (41.3 in), Y travel 540 mm (21.2 in), Z travel 520 mm (20.4 in). The table is 1,150 × 520 mm (45.2 in x 20.4 in), the load limit 600 kg (1,322 lb), and the spindle nose stands 110~630 mm above the table surface.

03 What spindle does the CNV-1050 use?

A 7/24 taper No.40 spindle at 8,000 rpm with a 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) motor. The table lists 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm as optional speeds. Tools are BT-40 with P-40T (45°) pull studs, up to 7 kg (15 lb) each.
