How much does the AWEA MCP-10050 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA MCP-10050 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Three AWEA moving column machines share 10,000 mm (393.7 in) of X travel, and the MCP-10050 is the middle one. It pairs that stroke with 5,400 mm (212.6 in) of Y and a fixed table of 10,000 x 3,800 mm (393.7 x 149.6 in).
The MCP-10040 is the narrower choice: 4,400 mm (173.2 in) of Y over a 10,000 x 2,800 mm (393.7 x 110.2 in) table. The MCP-10060 is the wider one, at 6,400 mm (252.0 in) of Y and 10,000 x 4,800 mm (393.7 x 189.0 in). Spindle, magazine and Z rows are identical on all three, so part width decides. There is one exception. The maker's table gives this machine a Y rapid of 7.5 m/min (295 ipm), where X and Z run at 10 m/min (394 ipm).
Between the columns there is 4,700 mm of clearance, or 4,500 mm with the X-axis covers fitted. A workpiece can therefore overhang the 3,800 mm table width a little, but not by much once the covers are on. Vertically, Z travel is 1,400 mm (55.1 in) with 1,600 mm as an option, and the spindle nose sits 800 ~ 2,200 mm (31.5 ~ 86.6 in) above the table. An optional range of 600 ~ 2,200 mm is listed for work that sits low.
AWEA seats the headstock in a U-shaped saddle on four linear guide ways with ten sliding blocks, and states that the rigidity of the head structure has been increased by 40%. The motor is 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) on a BBT50 taper. Tools up to 400 mm (15.7 in) long and 20 kg (44 lb) go in the 40T magazine.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,400 mm (212.6 in) of Y travel, between the 4,400 mm (173.2 in) MCP-10040 and the 6,400 mm (252.0 in) MCP-10060
- 4,700 mm between the columns, 4,500 mm with X-axis covers
- Headstock carried in a U-shaped saddle on four linear guide ways and ten sliding blocks
- Spindle nose to table distance of 800 ~ 2,200 mm (31.5 ~ 86.6 in), with 600 ~ 2,200 mm optional
Limitations
- Y rapid of 7.5 m/min (295 ipm); the MCP-10040 and MCP-10060 are both listed at 10 m/min (394 ipm) in Y
- Cutting feed tops out at 10 m/min (394 ipm)
- The standard spindle nose position starts 800 mm (31.5 in) above the table, so low plate work needs long tooling, a riser or the optional range
- The table lists neither a load rating nor accuracy figures

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Width. The MCP-10040 has 4,400 mm (173.2 in) of Y and a table 2,800 mm wide, the MCP-10050 has 5,400 mm (212.6 in) and 3,800 mm, and the MCP-10060 has 6,400 mm (252.0 in) and 4,800 mm. The coolant tank grows with the width, from 3,400 liter on the MCP-10040 to 4,000 liter here and 5,400 liter on the MCP-10060. X travel is 10,000 mm (393.7 in) on each.
02
AWEA lists the distance between columns as 4,700 mm, and 4,500 mm with X-axis covers. The table itself is 3,800 mm (149.6 in) wide in Y. Fixtures and any part overhang have to stay inside the smaller of the column figures that applies to the machine as delivered.
03
The table does not explain it. It lists rapids of 10 / 7.5 / 10 m/min (394 / 295 / 394 ipm) for X, Y and Z, so the cross travel is the slowest of the three. On a machine with 5,400 mm (212.6 in) of Y, that matters mainly on jobs that step back and forth across the full width.
04
The spindle nose travels from 800 to 2,200 mm (31.5 ~ 86.6 in) above the table top as standard, on a Z stroke of 1,400 mm (55.1 in). AWEA also lists a 1,600 mm Z option with a nose range of 600 ~ 2,200 mm.
