How much does the AWEA LP-6025YF cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LP-6025YF that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Longest of the four YF machines on the 2,700 mm (106.3 in) column spacing, the AWEA LP-6025YF has 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X travel and a 6,020 x 2,400 mm (237.0 x 94.5 in) table that takes 20,000 kg (44,092 lb). Y is 3,200 mm (126.0 in) and Z is 760 mm (29.9 in).
A 6,000 mm stroke makes the X drive the hard part of the design, and AWEA's description of the series is mostly about that. The base is one piece with 4 guide ways and grows with the travel so the table does not hang over its ends. The ball screw is placed in the centre of the X movement, which the maker says avoids yawing and uneven guide way wear, and a vibration absorber damps the long screw.
Length still shows in the accuracy rows. JIS positioning stays at ± 0.015 mm over full travel, but the VDI figure is P ≤ 0.050 mm with Ps ≤ 0.035 mm repeatability, the widest of the group. Feeds are those of the LP-5025YF: 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm) X rapid, 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) on Y and Z, and 1 ~ 5,000 mm/min (0.04 ~ 197 ipm) cutting feed.
One row is worth a second look before ordering. The LP-6025YF is listed at 49,000 kg (108,025 lb), while the vertical-only LP-6025 is listed at 50,000 kg (110,229 lb). Ask AWEA which figure applies to the configuration quoted.
For wider parts at this length the alternative is the LP-6033YF, with 3,900 mm (153.5 in) of Y, 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between the columns and 52,000 kg (114,638 lb) of weight on an identical table and load.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) table load, the highest in the group, on a 6,020 x 2,400 mm (237.0 x 94.5 in) table
- 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X travel with a centre-driven ball screw and vibration absorber
- JIS positioning accuracy of ± 0.015 mm over full travel and ± 0.003 mm repeatability, unchanged from the shorter models
- Automatic head changer and vertical / horizontal ATC system for side faces along the full length
- At 49,000 kg (108,025 lb) it is lighter than the 52,000 kg (114,638 lb) LP-6033YF
Limitations
- X rapid traverse is 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm) across a 6,000 mm stroke
- VDI figures are the widest of the four lengths: P ≤ 0.050 mm positioning and Ps ≤ 0.035 mm repeatability
- Cutting feed is limited to 1 ~ 5,000 mm/min (0.04 ~ 197 ipm)
- Z travel of 760 mm (29.9 in); taller work needs the LP-6025YZF with 1,000 mm (39.4 in)
- Table width stays at 2,400 mm however long the machine gets

Frequently Asked Questions
01
AWEA gives two sets of figures. Under the JIS standard the positioning accuracy is ± 0.015 mm over full travel and the repeatability is ± 0.003 mm. Under the VDI standard the positioning accuracy is P ≤ 0.050 mm over full travel and the repeatability is Ps ≤ 0.035 mm. The two standards measure differently, so compare like with like when setting this machine against a part tolerance.
02
A one-piece base with 4 guide ways. AWEA states that the base is enlarged in proportion to the travel so that the working table does not overhang, and that the X-axis ball screw sits in the centre of the axial movement. The X and Y axes use roller type linear guide ways.
03
The table, 6,020 x 2,400 mm (237.0 x 94.5 in), and the 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) load are the same. The LP-6033YF has 3,900 mm (153.5 in) of Y travel and 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between the columns and weighs 52,000 kg (114,638 lb). The LP-6025YF has 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of Y, 2,700 mm (106.3 in) between the columns and weighs 49,000 kg (108,025 lb).
04
The standard ATC system holds 32 tools. AWEA lists 60, 90 and 120 tool systems as options, which suits long unattended cycles on large parts. Each tool can be up to 350 mm (13.8 in) long and 20 kg (44 lb), with a diameter of Ø127 mm (Ø5.0 in), or Ø215 mm (Ø8.5 in) beside empty pockets.
