Overview

The Fooke ENDURA 900LINEAR is the large universal gantry of the ENDURA range: an overhead portal on raised beds with linear motors in all three linear axes, configurable from 3,000 - 30,000 mm in X, with Y travels of 3,000 / 3,500 / 4,000 / 4,500 mm and Z travels of 1,500 / 2,100 / 2,500 / 3,000 mm. Its material list runs from plastic and CFRP/GFRP through aluminum to cast iron and steel.

Two things set it apart from the other long ENDURA machines. First, X is a linear motor gantry pair, where the Fooke ENDURA 600LINEAR uses a rack and pinion. That shows in the dynamics: acceleration is up to 5 m/sec², and the page quotes a Kv factor of 5-7 m/(min x mm) against roughly 1-3 for conventional drives. Second, the height. A Z travel option of 3,000 mm (118.1 in) is the tallest in the range and allows a complete vehicle body, a large press tool or an aircraft assembly jig to be machined from the top down.

The side walls are pylon columns with raised beds, welded steel filled with a highly damping special concrete, and the Z axis is supported by two hydraulic cylinders. The machine room is at ground level and can be loaded by crane or forklift.

Six milling heads are listed, more than for any sibling. They range from milling head 11, with HSK-A63 spindles of 20 kW at 30,000 rpm or 34 kW at 24,000 rpm, to milling head 12, with an HSK-A100 spindle of 60 kW and 300 Nm at 15,000 rpm. Feed rates are 5 - 65,000 mm/min per axis.

Position accuracy is 0.025 mm in X, 0.020 mm in Y and 0.015 mm in Z, with a position scatter of 0.010 mm throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What sizes does the Fooke ENDURA 900LINEAR come in?

X is listed as 3,000 - 30,000 mm. Y is 3,000 / 3,500 / 4,000 / 4,500 mm and Z is 1,500 / 2,100 / 2,500 / 3,000 mm.

02 How does the ENDURA 900LINEAR differ from the ENDURA 600LINEAR?

The 900LINEAR has linear motors in all three linear axes, acceleration up to 5 m/sec², and steel and cast iron in its material list. The Fooke ENDURA 600LINEAR has a rack-and-pinion X axis, acceleration up to 3.0 m/sec² and a material range that ends at aluminum, with faster feed rates of 5 - 80,000 mm/min.

03 Which milling heads fit the ENDURA 900LINEAR?

The page lists milling heads 4, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 15. From Fooke's head brochure: head 4 has HSK-A63 spindles of 42 kW, 24,000 rpm and 67 Nm or 63 kW, 30,000 rpm and 31 Nm; head 12 has an HSK-A100 spindle of 60 kW, 15,000 rpm and 300 Nm.
