How much does the AWEA LP-5016YZF cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LP-5016YZF that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Installing an AWEA LP-5016YZF is a project in itself. The machine is listed at 36,000 kg (79,365 lb) and its table is rated for another 14,000 kg (30,864 lb). It is the largest of the narrow LP-F models: 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel, 1,900 mm (74.8 in) of Y and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z, with a 5,000 x 1,500 mm (196.9 x 59.1 in) table.
The services are stated more fully than the electrical supply. The hydraulic unit is a 120 liter tank with a 10 HP pump. Coolant capacity is 680 liter with a 1.5 HP pump, the lubrication tank holds 6 liter, and air is given as 5 ~ 8 (5) kg/cm². No kVA figure appears in the maker's table, so the connected load has to come from the quotation.
On the cutting side the standard spindle is the 4,000 rpm gear unit, which AWEA states at 977 N-m at 254 rpm. The head carries the main spindle, its motor, the ball screw and the hydraulic counterweight cylinders in a symmetrical arrangement. The Z axis rides on a hardened, ground box way, and the nose moves from 200 to 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in) above the table.
Buyers should read the X-axis figures carefully. The rapid is 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), equal to the upper end of the 1 ~ 10,000 mm/min (0.04 ~ 394 ipm) cutting feed range, and VDI positioning is P ≤ 0.040 mm over full travel. Both are a consequence of the five-metre axis. The Y axis still rapids at 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm). Where a part needs tighter figures over a shorter length, the LP-4016YZF lists P ≤ 0.030 mm and a 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) X rapid.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,000 x 1,900 x 1,000 mm travels: the largest envelope among the narrow LP-F machines
- 14,000 kg (30,864 lb) table load on a 5,000 x 1,500 mm (196.9 x 59.1 in) table
- 4,000 rpm gear spindle standard, stated at 977 N-m at 254 rpm
- 680 liter coolant tank and a 10 HP hydraulic unit
- Symmetrical head layout with hydraulic counterweight cylinders on a box-way Z axis
Limitations
- X rapid of 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), the slowest in the group

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table lists air at 5 ~ 8 (5) kg/cm², a 120 liter hydraulic tank with a 10 HP pump, a 6 liter lubrication tank and a 680 liter coolant tank with a 1.5 HP pump. The spindle motor is 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP). AWEA does not publish a kVA requirement for this model, so ask for the total connected load before sizing the supply.
02
In height and spindle. The LP-5016YF has 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z, a nose range of 400 ~ 1,160 mm (15.7 ~ 45.7 in) and a 6,000 rpm base spindle. The LP-5016YZF has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z, 200 ~ 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in) and a 4,000 rpm standard spindle with built-in 6,000 / 8,000 rpm options added to the list. Both weigh 36,000 kg (79,365 lb) in the tables.
03
Yes. The LP-5021YZF keeps 5,000 mm of X and 1,000 mm of Z and adds width: 2,800 mm (110.2 in) of Y, 2,300 mm (90.6 in) between the columns and a table load of 15,000 kg (33,069 lb). At 42,000 kg (92,593 lb), the LP-5021YZF is also the heavier machine. X rapid is the same 10,000 mm/min on both, while Y rapid is 20,000 mm/min here and 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) on the LP-5021YZF.
04
AWEA lists functions aimed at that. Adoptive feed control monitors spindle load in real time and changes the axis feed rate, which the maker says extends tool life and detects abnormal cutting. A tool loading monitor detects tool breakage. Spindle thermal compensation, which measures temperature and compensates automatically, is an option.

± 0.003 mm under JIS and Ps ≤ 0.030 mm under VDI. The JIS positioning figure is ± 0.015 mm over full travel and the VDI figure is P ≤ 0.040 mm over full travel. For features that must relate closely to each other, keep them within a short section of the X axis where possible and machine them in one head position.
