How much does the AWEA LP-5016YF cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LP-5016YF that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The AWEA LP-5016YF is the longest of the narrow LP-F machines, with 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel over a table of exactly the same length: 5,000 x 1,500 mm (196.9 x 59.1 in). It carries 14,000 kg (30,864 lb) and weighs 36,000 kg (79,365 lb).
Length has a cost in the speed column. The X rapid is 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), half of what the LP-2516YF and LP-3016YF reach at 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm). It is also the top of the cutting feed range, 1 ~ 10,000 mm/min (0.04 ~ 394 ipm), so on this model the X axis positions no faster than it can cut. Y and Z are unaffected at 20,000 mm/min and 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm). Plan cycle times with that in mind: a tool change at one end of a five-metre part and a cut at the other end is a long, slow traverse.
Accuracy over the full stroke follows the same pattern. Under VDI the positioning figure is P ≤ 0.040 mm over full travel and repeatability is Ps ≤ 0.030 mm, the widest in the group. The JIS lines read ± 0.015 mm and ± 0.003 mm, as they do for every size.
In cross section nothing changes from the shorter models. Y travel is 1,900 mm (74.8 in), Z is 760 mm (29.9 in), the columns are 1,700 mm (66.9 in) apart and the spindle nose sits 400 ~ 1,160 mm (15.7 ~ 45.7 in) above the table. The 6,000 rpm spindle is the high torque gear unit for which AWEA states 642 N-m at 387 rpm from a 26 kW motor. If the part is wide as well as long, the LP-5021YF has 2,400 mm (94.5 in) of Y and takes 15,000 kg (33,069 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel with a table of the same 5,000 mm length
- 14,000 kg (30,864 lb) table load, the highest of the LP-16 YF models
- 642 N-m at 387 rpm from the 6,000 rpm high torque spindle, as stated by AWEA
- Y rapid of 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm), faster than the 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) of the LP-5021YF
- Centre-driven X-axis ball screw with a vibration absorber for the long screw
Limitations
- X rapid of 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm) is no higher than the maximum cutting feed
- P ≤ 0.040 mm positioning and Ps ≤ 0.030 mm repeatability under VDI, the widest figures in the group
- Table and column spacing stay at 1,500 mm and 1,700 mm (66.9 in) however long the machine gets
- No table over-length: the 5,000 mm table gives no clamping area beyond the X stroke

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The LP-5016YF rapids at 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm) on X. The LP-4016YF is listed at 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm), and the LP-3016YF at 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm). Y and Z are the same on all of them. Because the cutting feed range also ends at 10,000 mm/min, non-cutting X moves on this machine take as long as a feed move at full rate.
02
Both have 5,000 mm of X and a 10,000 mm/min X rapid, and both list P ≤ 0.040 mm under VDI. The LP-5016YF has a 5,000 x 1,500 mm table, 1,700 mm between columns, 14,000 kg (30,864 lb) of load and a weight of 36,000 kg (79,365 lb). The LP-5021YF has a 5,020 x 2,010 mm (197.6 x 79.1 in) table, 2,300 mm (90.6 in) between columns, 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) of load and weighs 42,000 kg (92,593 lb).
03
AWEA lists 36,000 kg (79,365 lb) for both the LP-5016YF and the LP-5016. The table, load, X travel and X rapid are identical too. The differences are in Y travel, 1,900 mm against the 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of the LP-5016, in the spindle nose height and in the magazine options.
04
Machine weight is 36,000 kg (79,365 lb) and the table accepts a further 14,000 kg (30,864 lb). AWEA's specification table gives no floor loading or foundation drawing, and no kVA figure for the electrical supply, so request both with the quotation. Air is listed as 5 ~ 8 (5) kg/cm².
05
AWEA describes an adoptive feed control that watches spindle load and adjusts the axis feed rate, and a tool loading monitor that detects tool breakage. Spindle thermal compensation is marked as an option. On a part that takes hours on each face, these are the functions to ask about for running without an operator at the machine.
