Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anger Machining VTX-5 II that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anger Machining VTX-5 II is a small BBT-30 vertical machining center for drilling, tapping and light milling: 510 mm (20.1 in) of X travel, 400 mm (15.7 in) of Y and 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z over a 600x400 mm table. It is the shortest of the three VTX models and, at 2,850 kg (6,283 lb), the lightest.
Machines of this class earn their keep between cuts. Rapids are 60/60/60 m/min, accelerations 10/9/12 m/s² on X/Y/Z, and chip-to-chip time is 1.7 s at 1,800 rpm. On a part with twenty tools and many short holes, those three figures decide the cycle far more than spindle power does.
The spindle is direct-drive with a long-neck nose, which Anger says prevents collisions during machining. It is listed at 12,000 rpm or 20,000 rpm with 8.5/14.5 kW and 27/46 Nm (S1/S6-25%). The magazine holds 21 tools of up to Ø80 mm, 200 mm in length and 3 kg, so anything beyond small face mills and drills belongs on a larger taper.
A 4th or 5th axis on the table is optional. Table load is 300 kg (661 lb) and the machine needs 15 kVA at 3x380 V. If the part or a multi-vise setup is longer than the 600 mm the part size row allows, the VTX-7 II has the same Y and Z with 710 mm of X on an 850x400 mm table.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table gives a chip-to-chip time of 1.7 s, measured at 1,800 rpm. The magazine holds 21 BBT-30 tools. Fast tool changes and short chip-to-chip times are among the three key advantages Anger lists for the VTX series.
02
The maximum part size is 600/400/300 mm on a 600x400 mm table with three 18 mm T-slots, and the table load is 300 kg (661 lb). Travels are 510 mm, 400 mm and 300 mm in X, Y and Z.
03
Two are listed, 12,000 rpm and 20,000 rpm, under the heading SPINDLE (SIEMENS). Power is 8.5/14.5 kW and torque 27/46 Nm as S1/S6-25% ratings. The table does not say whether those ratings apply to both speeds, so ask for the torque curve of the spindle you intend to buy.
04
Yes. The table lists a 4th/5th axis on the table as optional. With 300 mm of Z travel and tools up to 200 mm long, check the remaining clearance over the rotary unit before settling on a fixture.
05
The machine measures 1,700/2,600/2,700 mm (L/W/H), weighs 2,850 kg (6,283 lb) and connects to 3x380 V with 15 kVA of total connected power. Lubrication is listed as CL, MQL.
