Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Yasda YBM 640V that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Yasda YBM 640V is the smallest of the maker's CNC jig borers, a vertical machine with travels of 600 mm (23.6 in) in X, 400 mm (15.7 in) in Y and 350 mm (13.8 in) in Z. The table working size is 700 x 450 mm (27.6 x 17.7 in), a little larger than the travel in both directions, so a plate can overhang the cutting area while its features stay in reach.
Yasda presents the current version with a new design that it says improves operation and maintenance, and it ties the machine's quality over long hours of operation to its base structure, thermal stabilization and spindle technology. For the buyer that translates into a simple question: is the job long-cycle, tight-tolerance work on small plates and inserts? If so, this is the size to look at.
The base spindle covers 100-24,000 min-1 with a MAS BT40 taper, and HSK-A63 can be ordered instead. A second spindle is optional: 150-30,000 min-1 on MAS BT30. The smaller taper is for small tools at speed, and it takes the machine out of general 40-taper work, so decide which kind of shop the machine is for before ordering.
Automation is where the options run deep. The magazine holds 30 tools and can be extended to 40, 60, 90 or 100 tools. An APC is listed as 2・5PLS, and there is a robot interface for EROWA/System 3R. A 1 axis rotary table with a Φ200 mm table and 40 kg loading capacity is also offered. The control is a FANUC 31i-B5 Plus, and the machine stands 3,100 mm (122.0 in) high.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 100-24,000 min-1 MAS BT40 spindle as standard, with HSK-A63 or a 150-30,000 min-1 MAS BT30 spindle as options
- Table working size of 700 x 450 mm (27.6 x 17.7 in), larger than the 600 mm and 400 mm X and Y travels
- Magazine expandable from 30 tools to 40, 60, 90 or 100 tools
- APC (2・5PLS) and an EROWA/System 3R robot interface are both listed as options
- Optional 1 axis rotary table, Φ200 mm with 40 kg loading capacity
Limitations
- 350 mm (13.8 in) of Z travel has to cover the fixture, the part and the tool
- The standard magazine holds 30 tools; larger ones are options
- The 150-30,000 min-1 spindle comes with a MAS BT30 taper, which limits tool size
- The optional rotary table carries 40 kg, so it is for small indexed parts only

Size. The YBM 640V has 600 mm of X and 400 mm of Y travel. The YBM 950V has 900 mm and 500 mm, with the same 350 mm of Z and the same 30 tools in the standard magazine. Both use the FANUC 31i-B5 Plus control.
04
Yes, with options. Yasda lists an APC as 2・5PLS, a robot interface for EROWA/System 3R, and tool storage of 40, 60, 90 or 100 tools in place of the standard 30 tools.
