Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anger Machining VP-10 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anger Machining VP-10 is the middle model of the VP vertical machining centers, with 1,020 mm (40.2 in) of X travel, 510 mm (20.1 in) of Y and 600 mm (23.6 in) of Z. Its table is listed at 1,070x610 mm and carries 500 kg (1,102 lb).
Think of it as a VP-8 with a longer table and more headroom. Z travel is 600 mm against 535 mm on the VP-8, useful under a 4th-axis unit or a tall fixture, and X gains enough for two vises with room between them. The VP-8 casting is close in weight, 5,000 kg against 5,200 kg here, and the connected power is the same 25 kVA.
The trade for the longer axes is speed: all three rapids are 36 m/min and acceleration is 5/5/5 m/s². Chip-to-chip time is still 3.6 s. One oddity in the datasheet deserves a question to Anger: the table is given as 1,070x610 mm, yet Y travel is 510 mm and the maximum part size is 1,070/510/600 mm.
Spindle data is shared across the series: 12,000 rpm with 11/16.5 kW and 53/78 Nm (S1/S6-25%), or 15,000 rpm with 11/20.9 kW and 92/176 Nm in brackets. BBT-40 tools up to 150 mm in diameter, 300 mm long and 7 kg are held in a 24-tool magazine, with 30 tools as the alternative. Anger builds the frame from castings with vibration-damping ribs and uses linear guideways on all axes.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- X travel of 1,020 mm for long parts or two-vise setups
- Z travel of 600 mm, above the 535 mm of the VP-8
- Bracketed 15,000 rpm spindle with 92/176 Nm
- Chip-to-chip time of 3.6 s at 1,800 rpm
- Servo motors coupled directly to the ballscrews through zero-backlash couplings
Limitations
- Rapids of 36/36/36 m/min are slower than the 48 m/min X and Y of the VP-8
- Table load is 500 kg, no more than on the shorter VP-8
- Y travel is 510 mm although the table is listed 610 mm wide
- Acceleration of 5/5/5 m/s² is moderate for short-stroke drilling work

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is longer in X and taller in Z: 1,020 mm and 600 mm, where the VP-8 has 820 mm and 535 mm. Y travel is 510 mm on both and both carry 500 kg. The VP-10 lists rapids of 36/36/36 m/min, while the VP-8 reaches 48 m/min in X and Y.
02
The table size row reads 1,070x610 mm, with five T-slots 18 mm wide and a 500 kg (1,102 lb) load. The maximum part size row reads 1,070/510/600 mm and Y travel is 510 mm, so confirm the usable table width with Anger.
03
Two ratings. The standard line is 12,000 rpm, 11/16.5 kW and 53/78 Nm (S1/S6-25%). In brackets the table shows 15,000 rpm, 11/20.9 kW and 92/176 Nm. The bracketed spindle is the one with the higher torque figures, so it is worth asking for when the work includes steel.
04
Yes, the table lists a 4th/5th axis on the table as optional. With 600 mm of Z travel and a tool length limit of 300 mm there is reasonable room above a rotary unit, and the 1,020 mm of X leaves space for a tailstock or a second fixture beside it.
05
Dimensions are 2,280/2,642/3,010 mm (L/W/H) and weight is 5,200 kg (11,464 lb). The electrical supply is 3x380 V with 25 kVA of total connected power. Siemens, Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls are listed.
