Overview

The Amada HG-1703, HG-2203, and HG-2204 are the heavy-tonnage flagships of Amada’s premium HG series. These pair the dual servo power hybrid drive with ±0.001 mm repeatability at 170-220 metric tons across 3-4 meter beds.

The HG-1703 delivers 1,700 kN (170 metric tons) across 3,100 mm. The HG-2203 provides 2,200 kN (220 metric tons) on 3,100 mm. The HG-2204 stretches to 4,300 mm at 220 tons.

Dual servo power only pressurizes during bending, cutting energy ~30%. AMNC 3i with 19-inch multi-touch LCD, 8-axis backgauge with L-shift, integrated bend sensor.

All three available with ATC storing 34.4 m of tooling, loading in under 4 minutes. ATC models include sheet followers.

New: $250K-$350K (HG-1703), $280K-$380K (HG-2203/2204), $450K-$700K (ATC). Competitors: Trumpf TruBend 5000/7000, Bystronic Xpert Pro, LVD PPEB-EFL.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • ±0.001 mm repeatability, tightest in industry at this tonnage
  • ATC loads tooling in under 4 minutes
  • Dual servo drive cuts energy ~30%
  • Three tonnage/bed combos for precise matching
  • 8-axis backgauge with real-time springback compensation
  • ATC sheet followers for single-operator handling

Limitations

  • ATC pushes to $450K-$700K
  • Proprietary Amada tooling
  • 14,000-20,000 kg machines
  • Amada-specific control
  • Used ATC models extremely scarce
