Overview
The Amada EGB 6013e is a 60-ton, 1.3-meter all-electric servo press brake from Amada's latest EGB-e compact series. It delivers the same tonnage as the older EG-6013 in a similar compact footprint, but upgrades to the AMNC 4ie control with voice command and operator recognition, improved multi-axis backgauge with independent servo drives, and enhanced energy efficiency.
The electric servo drive system provides variable torque and speed across the bending cycle — high-speed approach, high-torque pressing, and high-speed return — without any hydraulic components. Ram repeatability is ±0.001 mm, delivering consistent bend angles without trial bends. The absence of hydraulic oil eliminates leak risk, filter maintenance, warm-up time, and thermal drift, making the EGB 6013e one of the lowest-maintenance press brakes available.
The 60-ton capacity across a 1,300 mm bed positions the EGB 6013e as the mid-range compact electric brake — meaningfully more versatile than the 40-ton EGB 4010e for modest additional cost, while maintaining the compact footprint suited for cell-based manufacturing and tight shop layouts. The machine handles thin-to-mid gauge bending of mild steel up to approximately 4 mm, stainless up to 3 mm at full bed length.
Like the EGB 4010e, the compact 6013e supports Amada's optional ERGO package with Setup Assistant, foldable work table, and ergonomic chair for seated operation during extended small-part production runs. The AMNC 4ie control ensures training consistency across Amada's full press brake range, from the compact EGB series through the HG flagship machines.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 60-ton capacity across 1.3-meter bed provides significantly more versatility than the 40-ton EGB 4010e for modest additional investment
- AMNC 4ie control with voice command and operator recognition provides the latest Amada interface technology
- All-electric drive eliminates hydraulic oil, filters, pumps, and warm-up for near-zero maintenance
- ±0.001 mm ram repeatability delivers exceptional accuracy that eliminates trial bends on most materials
- Compact footprint suits cell-based manufacturing and secondary bending stations in multi-machine shops
- Optional ERGO package enables seated operation for extended small-part production runs
Limitations
- 60-ton capacity and 1.3-meter bed still limit the machine to small-to-medium parts and short flanges
- Premium pricing of $90K-$130K reflects Amada's electric drive and latest-generation control technology
- Amada proprietary tooling restricts third-party punch and die options
- Electric servo has inherent bottoming and coining force limitations compared to hydraulic machines of equivalent tonnage

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The EGB 6013e upgrades to the AMNC 4ie control with voice command and operator recognition (vs AMNC 3i), adds improved multi-axis backgauge with independent servo drives, and offers the optional ERGO package. Core press capacity and bed dimensions remain similar. The control and interface improvements represent a generational upgrade in operator experience.
02
Default to the EGB 6013e unless floor space demands the smaller machine. The extra 20 tons and 280 mm of bed provide significantly more versatility for approximately $20K-$30K additional cost. The EGB 4010e only makes sense when the absolute smallest footprint is required.
03
With 60 metric tons across 1,300 mm, the EGB 6013e air-bends mild steel up to approximately 4 mm at full bed length. Stainless capacity is about 3 mm. On shorter bends, proportionally thicker material can be bent within the tonnage limit.
04
Yes. The AMNC 4ie supports external automation interfaces, and the compact footprint suits robotic bending cells. Amada offers EGB AR robotic bending cell configurations. The consistent electric drive behavior simplifies robotic process reliability compared to hydraulic machines.
