The ram is not quick. Amada lists 100 mm/sec for approach and return and 10 mm/sec for bending, identical to the HRB 1303. Buyers comparing Amada's two 2200 kN families will see the difference at once: the HG-2204 is listed at 220 mm/sec approach, 20 mm/sec bending and 250 mm/sec return. On thick plate with a few bends per part the ram speed matters little, since handling the workpiece takes longer than the stroke. On thin, many-bend parts it matters a great deal.
