Overview
Three thousand kilonewtons on a three-metre bed: the Yawei PBA-300/3100 concentrates the highest pressure of the PBA series, 3,000 kN, on a bending length of 3,100 mm (122.0 in).
It is a machine for thick, short work. Compared with the PBA-300/4100 it saves a metre of floor and two tonnes of mass, at 13,800 kg (30,423 lb) against 15,800 kg (34,832 lb), and its oil tank is 450 L against 600 L. The drive, a 22 kW (29.5 hp) main motor, and the slider speeds, 120 mm/s; 10 mm/s; 120 mm/s, are identical.
A short, stiff bed deflects less under the same load than a long one, so for heavy brackets, lifting lugs, wear plates and similar parts the shorter machine is the more accurate tool as well as the smaller. The CNC controlled mechanical crowning Yawei lists for the PBA takes care of what deflection remains.
Frame figures are those of the 3,000 kN class: a 265 mm (10.4 in) stroke, a 580 mm (22.8 in) mould height and a 410 mm (16.1 in) throat.
