Accuway UZ-2000T3Y2

Three turrets, two spindles and two Y axes put the Accuway UZ-2000T3Y2 at the top of the UZ-2000 series. The station row reads 16+16+16, on BMT 40 tooling.

The axis rows show how the three turrets are arranged. X travel is 210 mm (8.3 in) for X1, X2 and X3. Z travel is 350 mm (13.8 in) for Z1 and Z3 and 840 mm (33.1 in) for Z2, so two turrets have short strokes, one at each spindle, and the third ranges along the whole work zone. The Y row reads Y1/Y3: +65/-45 mm (+2.6/-1.8 in), which gives the Y axes to the two short-stroke turrets. The sub spindle moves 920 mm (36.2 in) on the B axis.

With that layout three tools can be in the cut at once: one turret on each spindle and the long-travel turret helping wherever the cycle is longest. The aim is a balanced cycle on parts that would otherwise leave one spindle waiting. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min (945 in/min) in X, 40 m/min (1,575 in/min) in Z and 20 m/min (787 in/min) in Y.

Main and sub spindle are identical: 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp) and a turning diameter of 320 mm (12.6 in), with the nose row A2-5 (A2-6) and the chuck row 6 (8) in. Bar capacity is 52 mm (2.0 in), with 65 mm (2.6 in) in brackets. Turning length is 295 mm (11.6 in). Rotary tools run to 6,000 rpm with a 4.5 kW (6.0 hp) spindle. Weight is 11,500 kg (25,353 lb). An unloader and conveyor for finished parts, bar feeder and gantry loader system are optional.
