Overview
The Accuway UZ-2000T2Y adds a Y axis to the UZ-2000 twin-spindle, twin-turret platform, and an unusual one. Its travel row reads -45/+65 mm (-1.8/+2.6 in), an asymmetric stroke, and it rapids at 30 m/min (1,181 in/min), three times the Y rate of Accuway's single-turret Y-axis lathes such as the UT-300Y at 10 m/min (394 in/min).
A fast Y matters on a production machine. Milling a flat or drilling a pattern of offset holes involves many short Y moves, and at a slow rapid rate those add up over a shift. The asymmetric stroke gives more reach on one side of centre, useful for cutters that must clear the part before plunging.
The base is shared with the UZ-2000T2M: 210 mm (8.3 in) of X1/X2 travel, 840 mm (33.1 in) of Z1/Z2, a B axis of 920 mm (36.2 in) at 40 m/min (1,575 in/min), a 790 mm (31.1 in) turning length and a 320 mm (12.6 in) turning diameter. On this model Z1/Z2 rapids at 30 m/min (1,181 in/min). The turrets hold 16+16 tools on BMT 40 tooling, with rotary tools at 6,000 rpm and 3.7/5.5 kW (5.0/7.4 hp).
Main spindle choices are A2-5 built-in at 5,000 rpm, A2-8 belt at 3,500 rpm or A2-11 belt at 2,500 rpm. The second spindle is A2-5 with a 6 in chuck. One row should be confirmed with Accuway before ordering: the second spindle motor is printed as 11/11.5 kW (14.8/15.4 hp), where the sister model lists 11/15. Weight is 11,000 kg (24,250 lb).
